That was an extraordinary moment. I said shortly afterward (and many times later) that the pope should make an annual pilgrimage to wash her feet and ask for forgiveness on behalf of the cruelty shown to her just for trying to tell the truth. Too late now, but the truth remains.

It seems like SNL should do an apology to her after her death. What’s really crazy is after the press threw her into the sacrificial fire and ruined her career. Then they started following up, rumors and reports of these children being molested by priest. Still, nobody stood up and apologize. Such a brave soldier she was.

It was outrageous for media POV, because they love to construct a good scandal, but it didn't have an impact as it would have been in 1962. It was part of the character she was. A unlikely pop star. And for someone who was so against religion, she pretty much try all of them in the next 30 years.

I can't express how much I like SNL. It's such a great view into a moment of time. Moreover, the production of it all is insane. Have you seen the James Franco documentary about it? It's great and made me love SNL so much more. And on top of it all, I find it so surreal and alien. I'd never go on live TV and perform, that sounds like my worst nightmare. Comedians are truly the most enigmatic people.

I gotta say, the SNL moment that has stayed with me for YEARS is still Jane Curtains. Though McDonalds still denies allegations that it uses ground worms in their meat, they are having difficulty explaining why, when you cut a Big Mac in half, it crawls in two different directions.
