Snobbery in Mormon Studies

People approach the study of Mormonism in different ways, and the value of what they do cannot necessarily be reduced to their approach. Unfortunately, people can still be snobs toward others who don't approach the study of Mormonism in the same way. Be like Prof. Richard Bushman and value the contributions of those who study Mormonism from a different perspective (academic vs. non-academic, believer vs. non-believer).

Didn't Neil A. Maxwell exempt apologists from exercising both decorum and restraint? Like, they were assigned Texas sharpshooter duties on the top of the wall so decent Saints could sleep soundly at night and not be disturbed by such unpleasantries.
