Getting fit and eating right changed my life and vision, my eyesight and thinking got better after about 6 months, I would love to see Hendry give it his all just for around 3-5 more years and bamboozle the haters. The fight quietly to equal no.7 is on and overtake Hendry is probably why they don't want him bk just incase he gets no.8, but again that fitness is a must and practice practice practice...as you know. Still a Legend...always. 👍

Reading this on the day Ronnie just equaled his record, with the way he played who knows, next year or the year after I could see him get his 8th

@@ElSoloNoco I knew in 2020 during covid when Ronnie got no.6 as he hadn't won one since 2013 that He was going after Hendrys record. Osullivan straight off the bat just said hel be bk next year for no.8. It's a record that they hated Hendry having, tbh he would have prob won more but the acid threats to his wife and baby was horrible, that's how much they hated Hendry because he was unstoppable and got under everyones skin, what he achieved in that decade will prob never be equalled, but yeah give someone another 20 odd years they are going to most likely equal or better that result. Records are there to be broken it pushes people to better them. If Davis was on 7, Hendry would have got 8, it was that simple, same with Osullivan he's on 7 now so 8 would be a new record, but again Ronnies snooker ability he should have equalled long ago but his mental ability let him down. I had a feeling Hendry came out of retirement because he knew something was up and wanted to give it a go, but like my comment before if you don't take care of yourself and practice you won't get far, plus his other commitments he seems more interested in drinking and smoking cigars now lol Ronnie will retire after WC no.8. That's what happens when you feel like you have nothing left to prove just like Hendry but minus the hate and acid threats etc

Hendry's comeback has been a major disappointment. I didn't expect much but I'm just puzzled as to what exactly his ambitions are, he himself admitted recently that he hasn't been practicing enough which was why he didn't enter the qualifiers for the World Championship. He then later decides to enter the World Seniors Championship and you would think he would be one of the major favorites to win but then gets stomped in the first round. Granted he did play against the guy who would eventually win he competition, but it's still beyond disappointing how he just can't seem to be able to compete against anyone. Why come back at all if you're not going to be giving it 100% and actually put in the practice? He has said just a few days ago that he still wants to continue playing, but I just don't get it. Does he want to continue to lose pretty much every match? Why not either go all in or just quit once and for all, he just keeps half assing it and it hasn't been a good look on him.

@@lfmm97 It's probably a few things, he's really not done that much since 2012, he's overweight, drinks, smokes etc, his other commitments commentating and golf charity events meet n greets, yeah he's not puting in enough hrs, he should know how much he needs to put in and I think sometimes he gives it a gd go other times he doesn't, it's like getting bk exercising when ur unfit sometimes u give it a go other times u know u can't be assed. I wanted Hendry a couple of years ago to get fit n eat healthy, give it a go as I KNEW they wanted his 7WC when Ronnie slid under the covid radar in 2020 winning no.6 as he hadn't won one since 2013 and was going off the boil a bit them bam WC no.6 he was always a great player O'Sullivan but his mentality na, then look at him this year Osullivan wanted that no.7 badly he trounced everyone Hendry style now he musta practiced like mad as parrot said. Hel get no.8 unless someone puts in the effort and the WC draw is a bit more even most of best players to beat Osullivan eliminated themselves only Higgins Williams or Trump could stop him, when he got past Higgins I knew it was no.7 and like the big oh gee best bud thanks hug at the end with trump, that shows how hard it was just to equal Hendry. Hendry done it in a decade, yet all they talk about is Ronnie. They forget too quick how gd Hendry was at his peak. I really wish Hendry had gotten the fitness memo it's working for Higgins, Higgins just needs a bit more practice like Osullivan. Anyway yeah Hendry just wanted another go to see and I bet he felt the same 2020 going he's going after the record. No.6 was during covid I bet no one thought it would go ahead, bet Ronnie got the memo though lol

Steven, I’ve been one of your biggest supporters and still am.. Just a pity you couldn’t put your practice form to a competition table. Don’t know if your starting to feel more nervous now than you did when you were destroying everyone. All the best anyway my friend. Take care 💙🙏

is that table cloth reactions was super slow, or it is because you are using super soft cue tip, because it seem your cue action was extremely powerful but those ball doesn't react that much. some kind of weird balance n combination there the way i see..

I wonder what a young Stephen Hendry would think of the 2021 model? We are talking about a winning machine that travelled to Sheffield expecting nothing other than to be world champion. The current model just want to qualify for the first round.

Yup, he just uses a little bit of "helping" side on small angles on most pots. Technically you don't even need to use any side for 99% of the game if your position is always as good as this.

Wish I had a full size table , I have a 3/4 table made numerous 50+ breaks which is probably the equivalent to a 20 break on a full size

Tbh I think break building on smaller tables is harder, there’s just no room to swing that cue ball. I’ve had a few 60’s and 70’s on a six foot it’s not easy

Perhaps it's just the nature of the GoPro lens, but I couldn't help but notice what appears to be a slight 'twist' in Hendry's cue action. To be more specific, it looks like the tip of his cue always goes a fraction to the left when he pulls back, then comes back to centre by the time it hits the cue ball.

If he can play in practice as well as this then why doesn't he try again? I watched him a couple years ago against Jimmy White in the World Qualifiers and both were awful. Jimmy was my hero and I despised Hendry's dominance over him throughout the 90's, but have since tempered my judgement. He was an absolute world beater. So now, at fifty 53, why doesn't he try again? Surely a wild card if there ever was one?

Why snooker players always play with open hands and billiard players change sometimes open and sometimes close hand? Or why carambol player only play with close hand?
@demonicious_
@demonicious_ 2 жыл бұрын
Snooker balls are smaller, a flat bridge gives you more control on a snooker ball whereas elevated or closed bridges will be better for pool balls, which are larger.

Closed bridge feels more stable with hevier pool balls when hit with some pace. Also the wider shaft in pool fits better to closed bridge. Snooker cue gets also wider more dramatically in the section close to the tip so the loop gets tighter as you follow through and might prohibit that. With me the closed bridge makes aming just a little worse so I tend to go for the open one in pool in long range and sacrifice some feel. I think in hitting a heavy ball like pyramid or carambol with any spin the cue tries to move and bend away from the cue ball and closed bridge prohibits that movement better. There is most likely more consistent and possibly longer lasting contact. This will give you more spin and esentially cue power. The effect would be the same (with smaller percentage) in snooker but cue power is not the number one asset in that game.
