mrb018538 I probably wrote that wrong. I know he had a very successful career, what I meant was he dropped out of the top 16 a few times which is around the same time as the games that were being investigated. He then had some better results and moved back up the rankings just before his ban.

What I like about the Higgins one at the end, the frame was already over and Davis had won it but the colours were still on the table so instead of conceding, Alex just started playing exhibition pots to ensure he got the biggest cheer even though he lost the frame! No wonder Steve had a sour face at the end.

Nice compilation. Another player with incredible cue power from back in the day was Neal Foulds although you'd have to go back to the 1980's to get some of his. I think he was the first player I recall being able to play a full length of the table shot and being able to screw the white back into baulk. And prior to Jimmy White there was a left hander from South Africa (I think) called Perrie Mans who used to play some of those ridiculous screwbacks that Jimmy later made famous.

I still believe that Jimmy White is the pioneer and king of the banana shot, even more so than Alex Higgins and recently Judd Trump. Quite a few of Jimmy White's classics were not featured here... such as the one where he smashes in the black off its spot, bounces the cue ball off the top cushion, bananas the cue ball into the side cushion near the centre pocket, where it rebounds all the way to the balk cushion and lined up perfectly for the yellow sitting on the balk cushion.

This is an amaing compilation. You got every one of them spot on but with all due respect to Ronnie, he belongs no where on this list. I would rather you included players such as Neil Robertson, Shawn Murphy, Ali Carter or even Jack Lisowski . This is not hating on Ronnie on any way because in my view he is the GOAT. But what makes him so good is his break-building ability. Another thing I noticed in this video was how much movement Trump generates with so little effort. Jimmy White and Stephen Lee are amazing but they use so much brute strength.

It was a harsh punishment, they made him a example to the others. The bottom line is he shouldn’t have done it. Quinten Hann was also banned. Stuart Bingham also got off lightly but it was different circumstances
@Massivafan4 жыл бұрын
@@EnglishPoolandSnooker Of course I'm not excusing his behaviour, but the punishment is vastly disproportionate. It should've been corrected a long time ago. A one year ban and a fine would've been enough. And once again, I can't stress enough how incredibly two-faced the response of the sport was considering how people reacted to Higgins, even though in his (much more severe, he made more money out of cheating) case there was video evidence as well as documents etc.
