Shot E by Shaun Murphy was intentional and frankly brilliant, also well done to you for the recreation of it. Shot F by Robert Millkins looked to me as if he was going for the furthest ball away from him, but got the closest one instead. Thanks for posting these awesome shots, your cue power has got much better with the back spin. When I saw Shaun Murphy's unbelievable shot I thought you would have a go at it so well done 👍
@jama211
@jama211 Жыл бұрын
I actually think Shaun was meaning to run it directly along the cushion and hit the red, not trying to pot it like that, and the commentators at the time said so as well, which makes it a bit of a fluke. But still really cool!
@thepagan5432
@thepagan5432 Жыл бұрын
@@jama211 Yeah, looking at it again, that is a possibility. The only thing that made me think Shaun had gone for it was how hard Shaun played it. I admire Shaun's play so perhaps I am a wee bit biased, lol. Good point though 👍

@thepagan5432
@thepagan5432 Жыл бұрын
@@equisde8026 As I said to jama211, he had hit it sufficiently hard to bounce back off the baulk cushion and that's why I believe there was some intention with the shot. The spin to bring the ball back to the right can be caused by the use of the pocket jaw to effect the change of direction with the cue ball. Played for or fluke, either way a brilliant shot.
@johnmc3862
@johnmc3862 Жыл бұрын
@@jama211 If he wanted it along the cushion he wouldn't have hot it that hard. Hitting it hard puts spin on it and brings it out from the cushion.

great work. I could never make any of them and the level of competence of the pros shows in that they cannot try several times relaxedly at home but play such shots in often critical situations where missing it would leave the table open for the opponent.

Watch Shaun's concentration as the cue ball passes the side pocket before kicking off the baulk end. If it had been a fluke he would have reacted to the miss on the first pass. Not a flinch and then perfect position on the black. 100% intentional.

Also, i cannot find it anywhere, but there was a shot on the black by James Wattana and i think it was 92 WC. The black was maybe 5 mill off and in the middle of the black cushion and it was hit with trump like pace and top spin. Didn’t rattle the jaws either. Think it was in the best shots of that WC

It's very disconcerting that you've changed the order of the side by side scores. It used to be Shot Difficulty on the left and Recreation Accuracy on the right. I hadn't even realised how used to that arrangement I was until the new arrangement completely threw me.

also if you frame by frame analyse it, its more like a 5 out of 10 in accuracy, as he actually hits the black cushion before the 2 jaws. But I imagine your cloth age will hinder you slightly from doing it that way. But yea, the shaun escape is so random, even if he did actually play it. Check my video to see how many times i failed before getting it.

Your Recreation Accuracy for the Shaun Murphy shot shouldn't be 7/10, I'd say 5 out of 10. 5 for pulling the pot off, 0 for positional play, because he got right on the black, you didn't get anywhere near it, even snookering yourself.
@jamesfisher5233

I really dont understand how you give yourself such high accuracy ratings for some the shots you recreate. Some of them are nowhere near the outcome of the shots that were actually played

Do you think Shaun Murphy's shot was intentional? Wouldn't most players HAVE to pay that shot into the jaws JUST to get out of the snooker and hope to hit the red? It just seems too beyond comprehension that he intended to put that side on and it bounce off the bottom cushion with exactly the right amount of side. I dunno
@UguysRnuts
@UguysRnuts Жыл бұрын
Then why hit it with the perfect speed to end up on the black instead of leaving the cue ball in baulk??
@sharpvidtube
@sharpvidtube 10 ай бұрын
@@UguysRnuts Because you have to hit it hard anyway. There's no chance he was thinking of potting the red and getting on the black. He needed snookers, so the last thing he wanted was to pot the red, as it's far easier to get extra points with a free ball, when the red is still on the table. I also noticed he didn't look at the top cushion before playing the shot, so if it was possible to judge, he would at least look at where the cue ball had to go, as he does with other shots, that aren't flukes.

@elgringo1893
@elgringo1893 Жыл бұрын
100% a fluke, he's playing off the jaws along the cushion. The spin is imparted by the jaw and not the players input so you can't really control the spin or direction playing off the baulk cushion, therefore it's more luck than anything if you are actually going for the shot and are able to hit it.
@danjeory3659
@danjeory3659 Жыл бұрын
@@elgringo1893 Have to disagree... if you look again just before he hits it, he looks up again very quickly just to look at the point on the baulk cushion he wants to hit. That makes me think he was aiming for around there knowing that it would come back with check side. Also, he would know any contact and the red would probably drop, which would have been impossible from the other direction...
