Great videos these, it's a realistic presentation of us normal players and not those snooker gods that make it look too easy ;) Some great cueing here, nice one!

I like the idea of taking an average score from 10 lineups, it introduces an element of pressure, I think I’ll try it myself. You’re a similar standard to myself, with a slight lack of cue power, again like myself. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I think its a useful little exercise to keep track of. Cue power is a strange one, it comes and goes with me, I guess because its more about timing that how hard the cue is actually delivered.

You inspired me again. I just spent a couple of hours on line-ups and was struggling to break thirty. Then, all of a sudden, out popped a 57. My highest break to date, 😁

Nice work Steve, 57 is great!

You shouldn't avoid the black because of the red below it. The natural angle for the cue ball to take when the black is potted avoids that red, provided you don't put top on it. Or take that red beflow the black as your first shot. You have to be able to focus on those blacks to get a decent size break going on lineup. Try to be high on the black, that gives you most options.

You're right but I felt those specific shots where I said I would have taken the black but for that red, I had a bit too much angle to make the pot and avoid the red comfortably. I don't take that red first on the benchmark test as its probably only only an 8-9/10 shot for me at the moment and would almost certainly mean at least one attempt that is 0 points :D

Put an extra red below the blue and you will have a bit more space for reds between blue and pink ,also think getting slightly high on most shots ,this will ensure you won’t run into other balls .It’s quite an easy exercise to make big breaks once you get a routine going .

So three reds baulk side of the blue? I may switch to that in future but I want to finish out 2023 with the same routine I started it with. Good tip about finishing high though.
