Lovely clearance on the colours! Very controlled... You get good action on that cueball....

How far should the yellow and green be from the brown ball when you set them up?
@EnglishPoolandSnooker3 жыл бұрын
Hello, it’s a pool table so doesn’t have any snooker markings and is obviously smaller than a snooker table so I just put the balls where I thought it looked right....not very scientific 😊

You can find the accurate dimensions online somewhere.

Nice! Have you got the max yet?

Dean Oliver Thanks! No this was my first attempt because the snooker balls are quite new, I usually use pool balls. I’ll play some more snooker on the table so you never know!

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker awesome mate keep it up. I've tried my aramith snooker balls on this tiny table but the pockets are too small. Can't wait to get back on a normal table again, good luck and I'll be checking your vids out

Dean Oliver Hopefully it won’t be too long before the snooker clubs can re-open.

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker hopefully mate, gutted the golfers are back but we can't yet

Dean Oliver our club has re-opened but it’s so limited on how many allowed in the room etc it’s not worth it. Has your club re-opened?

Hi, what is the size of the table and the balls?
@EnglishPoolandSnooker3 жыл бұрын
Hi it’s a standard size English pool league/pub table which 7ft x 3.5ft. The balls are also the same size as standard pool balls which is 2”.

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker as someone who owns a 7 ft table and has a mate that has a 6ft table identical to yours ive gotta be honest mate it looks like ur on a 6 ft table there. still a nice clearance though.

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker having just had a look at another vid of yours... in fairness you actually have a different table from my mate same brand though... n looks like 6 ft to me could somehow just be the angle though

@@stevesmith7843 hi, it’s definitely a 7ft table from Home Leisure Direct. I think it’s called an avant garde 2.0. Standard UK pub size. Maybe it’s the camera angle that makes it look 6ft.

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker far as i know (being originally from the UK) standard UK pub size is 6ft....... obviously if you're saying yours is 7 i believe you fair enough lol but yer pub size in the uk is def 6 ft n even the first few rounds of the big tournaments used to be played on 6 ft tables unless things have changed. wheras here in aus 7ft tables are standard pub size

Hi really nice pool table, what is the make of table? & the cloth is a great colour is it powder blue Hainsworth smart ? You play very well 👍. Thanks ....
@EnglishPoolandSnooker3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it’s a 7ft avant garde DPT pool dining table, and you are spot on with the cloth type and colour. I bought it from home leisure direct but there are a few companies selling them online in Uk. Thanks, I’m enjoying playing a bit of pool but missing playing snooker really 👍🏼

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker Superb choice of colour scheme, the smart powder blue looks really awesome on a white pool table. In your (opinion) do feel the napp of the cloth plays better than the standard Strachan 6811 that is usually on most club tables ? From what I have researched there isn’t any scotch-guard on the cloth, have you had any issues with the upkeep of the smart cloth ? Thanks 👍 Hopefully we will be back to normal soon and clubs will be as before. 😃 Carry on the great videos.

@@Storm1818 thanks, I prefer the white to dark wood veneer etc. The smart cloth is quite good although it is not that hard wearing, there are a few marks on it from swerve shots etc. Also it’s fast but I would prefer it to be a bit quicker. When I get it reclothed I will get whatever cloth they use in the IPA tournaments. I have only played on the 6811 cloths on a snooker table but I would say they run a bit faster. Thanks for the good comments 😊

@@EnglishPoolandSnooker How long have you had the table/smart cloth? I looked up the IPA cloths and it suggested simonis 861 as a Napless cloth used on American tables and some English tables, would this be a good choice for pool & snooker? It’s faster but not the fastest cloth. Thanks 👍
@EnglishPoolandSnooker3 жыл бұрын
@@Storm1818 the table and cloth are both about a year old. Personally I think snooker and Uk pool cloths should have a nap, but still one of the fast cloths (not the thick cheap ones which are hard wearing but slow). I’m not keen on no nap cloths as the ball runs forever and I don’t think that’s how the Uk game is meant to be played. It’s all a personal preference. I think when I get it reclothed in about a year I will probably get the strachan 6811.
