Eminem is not really mad at Snoop not putting him in his top 10. After that, Snoop said Eminem would be nothing without Dr. Dre and that he can live without Em's discography. That shit is disrespectful. He discredited everything Eminem has done, his whole career and his impact on hip-hop. That's why Em dissed him.

“I had dog backwards” could be taken as referencing his previous line saying Snoop was a god to him, but also having someone backwards is like you mistook their true intentions or you made a mistake like “no you’ve got it backwards, that’s not what I meant”. So Em references his prior bar, but also he thought snoop was in his camp but he (Em) had it backward/was incorrect in assuming Snoop has his back. A flip on a flip on a literal word flipping it’s spelling. Nice.

Snoop was out of line in a big way. He not only didn’t include EM in his top ten. That was not the problem. The problem was that he went on the Breakfast club and was not asked about Eminem, but voluntarily brought Em’s name up to inform everyone that even though the majority of the rap game feels like Eminem is top 5 top 10, he doesn’t agree with that. And then when asked why he felt that way, he passionately expressed that there are rappers in the 80’s and 90’s that Eminem can’t touch. That was the problem. If Em went on an interview and voluntarily said that Snoop Dogg was not in his top 10 or top five rappers, without anyone asking him that question, he would be called a disrespectful hater. And Snoop would have taken offense. It’s OK for Snoop to have whatever opinions he wants to have. But if you feel so passionately about Eminem not being in your top tier of lyricists that you have to voluntarily bring that up, that sounds like hate to me. Especially when he said he can’t live without this hip hop thing. But he can live without Eminem’s music. That was just unnecessary.

Don't think Em cares about Snoop's top 10. I think the root of the issue is Snoop trying to push for racial equality and fair treatment of black people but at the same time is saying Em can't be the goat because he's white. Also trying to say Em is only successful because Dre got him there, mean while Snoop relied on Dre to get his career going as well. Dre has even mentioned that Eminem likely saved his career. Snoop was out of line, Em just calling him out. Wasn't even really a diss IMO.

The Roots “Underground Rawkus” Rawkus Records was an underground label that launched Talib and Most Def. Rawkus Records had a legendary tape, the Lyricist Lounge. That tape featured Black Thought and Eminem. That’s where Em planted his roots (fandom and underground rap scene) like the group... “Havoc these black thoughts are to wreak, like Trotter” Black Thought is Tariq Trotter. That’s a heavyweight bar.

*Crypt* No it’s not that he wasn’t in Snoop top 10 it was that Snoop was throwing shade at Eminem for no reason. Because in that breakfast club interview (which most of the time they talk badly about Em) all they asked Snoop is who is on your top 10 list and Snoop started talking about Eminem and basically dissed his whole life basically in the rap game by saying he could live without his entire career of music when nobody brought up Eminem at all. So that’s why Eminem dissed Snoop on this album because he thought they was friends because Eminem has never said anything bad about him so it came out of nowhere.

@@touchstone1682 Exactly. I'm sure it can be directly linked that Dre's success is due to Em's success. Yes, it is true Em likely wouldn't have arrived how he did and in way he did had it not been for Dre...and maybe Em wouldn't have gotten the break he needed for years to come, maybe his life would have turned out different, or maybe his work ethic and crazy mind would have led him to rap success regardless of who is mentor is. Who knows. But to act like Em's contributions to the rap game are meaningless is so dumb. I think Snoop Calling Em the “great white hope” was far more hurtful, then not having em in his top 10. Hip hop was alive long before Em came up, and Snoop was there already... having his own roll models and idols. So it’s obvious Snoop will name 10 names before Em even makes it in the conversation. But calling him the great white hope was disrespectful,period! He didn’t have to do that. I guess Snoop was probably one of the people, saying NOT to take the risk on a blue eyed white boy to Dre, back in the day. Along the way i think they did get closer ,and Snoop changed his opinion, but none the less...he NEVER made a album with a Eminem feature.🤷‍♂️ Keep your friends close,but your enemies even closer....

Crypt, Snoops actually done more than just say Eminem isn't in his top 10. He's unecessarily discredited Em multiple times, and even said in an interview once that he's the "greatest 'white' rapper of all time". For him to put emphasis on his race shows that he doesn't respect Em enough, and that Snoop was already on some bs even before his talk about top 10. The top 10 list wasn't really a diss to Eminem, but the fact that he's constantly been egging him on in interviews n' shit makes him seem like Lord Jamar, except he states it suddely and under the radar, but laughably, hes done it over n over again. I've never really cared about the whole "lists" of everyone's favorite rappers stuff so obviously when snoop didn't include Em it was no big deal, but to continue on to say that Em's entire catalogue did nothing in rap and the only reason he popped off is because of Dre and he's white. Yeah, snoop is from Dre's camp.. but if you realize what is happening to Em right now, the reason why these guys of such status are turning on him is because they are no longer viable in rap anymore and Em is. Snoop had ONE good album and after that has been doing commercials with Martha Stewart and among others lol. Yeah, snoops an OG in the game..but when you say stuff strictly because your jealous your career in rap isn't what it once was..I think it really just upset/bummed Em out that Snoop would say such a thing..I know we won't ever find out but I'm curious as to what Dre thinks about what Snoop said lol.

@somethingdifferentprobably 3 жыл бұрын
plenty understand his bars, just that some are awful dad jokes (your booty is heavy duty, like diarrhoea), or are just throwing together random words that rhyme just for the sake of making a word salad (most of his fast raps). there are 5-10 other lyrical rappers throughout history who are on par with eminem, em is definitely quite talented though. Would love to see him do more storytelling songs/albums like darkness though (but ones that aren't rick rubin monstrosities like stepdad)

I personally feel like Em is better than he's ever been lyrically. I mean EVERY line has a double and sometimes a triple meaning. He also uses bigger and more educated words than most rappers do. All while still telling a story that makes sense, which is amazing to me. However, I haven't been able to vibe to a lot of what he's done sonically since Recovery. I just don't dig a lot of the beats. I don't like the majority of the features he has. In the B-Side album his delivery is just so calm and lifeless in most songs, despite being lyrically the best he's ever done. I dunno, I wish he would go back to using beats like back during The Eminem Show days but with his new level of lyrical skills along with the passion and raw emotion he use to have, and he could create possibly the best rap album of all time. For example, I feel like his verse on Yelawolf's, Best Friend, was one of the last times I heard him spit a verse with a great beat, raw emotion, and being super lyrical at the same time. That's one of my favorite verses he's ever done because it has everything that made him great back in the day mixed with what makes him still great to this day. Just seems that in his own stuff now days the lyricism is the only thing he's got going.

A stirrup is a light frame or ring that holds the foot of a rider, attached to the saddle by a strap, often called a stirrup leather. Stirrups are usually paired and are used to aid in mounting and as a support while using a riding animal (usually a horse or other equine, such as a mule).

About the Snoop diss: Em says ”you were like a god to me, nah I had ”dog” backeards” What I think he means is that Snoop was like the family dog from em point if view. Dre’s the father who braught him up and 50 the Brother he help raise and Snoop was always around like the family dog. Like he wasnt part of bringing him up but was always there to show love. And now when Snoop said Em’ music aint essential to hip-hop it’s like the family dog bit him. Like em will allways have love and respect for snoop but it’ll never be the same.
