In this week's travel vlog video we return to Key Largo, this time staying at John Pennekamp Cora Reef State Park.
Campground
We stayed at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (about $46 per night after taxes and fees). It exceeded our expectations except for the fact that the sites were perhaps a little too close together.
Dining
We arrived on Friday afternoon and went to Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill. Great place for sundowners, and we also had some delicious nachos. On Saturday we had lunch at Hobo's Cafe.
Activities
The main event was a kayaking trip to the Coral Reef that was the absolute highlight of the whole trip. $29.95 per person. We also rented a dual kayak for $17
Traveling in Florida and the rest of the USA aboard a Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB travel trailer. You are more than welcome to tag along by subscribing to this channel.

My wife and I are both getting a singe kayak. We are currently looking at two Pelican Premium Apex 100 Angler 10' Kayaks. A lot, if not most, of the places we will likely go to will have a river, lake, or ocean for us to kayak on. One of the main reasons we are taking up RV'ing is that almost everything you do when camping is outdoor healthy exercise. Even at a slower 60 year old pace...

I want to get my own kayak eventually too. I'm thinking inflatable because of storage issues, but don't know. Maybe I can get a rigid one on the rook of tow vehicle. Enjoy the outdoors!

Robert, love your videos! My whole family watches them. We will be taking a vacation to the Keys next year. Our home is in Metro Atlanta. In case no one has told you, the best mask antifog is a travel size bottle of Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. Just a little on the inside lenses, let sit a couple minutes, and rinse off slightly. No eyeburn and smells good too plus it’s not expensive.

Great video! Looking forward to seeing the next stop. We were in Key West in Feb 2017 and took what was suppose to be a cruise in a glass bottom boat to view a reef. You know you're actually not far from the real Spanish 1733 Fleet wreck right? You can go dive it and check it out. We used to salvage it back in the day. It isn't the same today though we still have 3 leases on it. If we get a boat this year we will be back out there as we still have an MA with proper permits to explore it. It's more fun the the 1715 Fleet as the water is nicer, plus we get to stay in the Keys. :) love swimming so it's all good to me. What campground did you stay at? It actually looks really nice. Wee bit more privacy between the lots and trees. Love trees. Btw. Baby shampoo for your mask. Won't fog up or burn your eyes at all. Coat the inside and then a quick dip/rinse. Will last hours and hours. If it starts to fog blow bubbles in it so you don't have to stop and take it off. But yeah keep a dollar store bottle of baby shampoo with your snorkel and any dive gear. :)
