Hey Eric !! Made comment earlier -- B/4 you tear all the fuel system apart again -- try this simple test -- Is the tank vent open or clogged with "Mud Wasp "" nest or is the vent in the cap open as seems like you are pulling a vacuum on the tank ??? Did you replace ALL the fuel line to the pump as it may be collapsing inside itself ?? 🤔🙄😮‍💨😌

Looks like a full fuel system clean out is needed from tank to carb.

after cleaning out the fuel system a bit of an old hot rodders fix could be a surge tank under the hood for the mechanical fuel pump to draw from, also would allow you to run a clear sight glass to keep an eye on whats floating around in there, or the state of the fuel, i.e. contaminants and such, but you could go with something as simple as about a quart fuel cell under the hood for the mechanical pump to draw from, put an electric in line pump between the fuel tank in the back and the fuel "log" front with a return line, you don't need a high performance pump, just a basic electric fuel pump as a bulk pump/lift pump should keep a steady enough volume in the lines to feed the carb, but i tend to go a little overkill on fuel delivery because i've been left on the side of the road a time or two by under fueling issues and as the old saying goes "Overkill is underrated". I think either Mr Gasket or Holley makes a Surge Tank kit but its been awhile since i'd seen any mention of them, i know edelbrock makes one for EFI conversions where your mechanical pump feeds a small tank with a high pressure pump in it for an EFI setup, i've seen those used a few times on Throttle body Fuel Injection conversions, and one SMPFI conversion, but i think as you were saying, either the fuel system needs another end-to-end cleaning or you've got more junk in the fuel system causing you woes, i wonder if a marine Fuel/water separator would help catch some of the extra oil and junk from the tank with an extra fuel filter before the pump, you got her running and kind of driving, you've got this and i know after the gremlins are all chased out that she'll be a very useful machine for some challenging recoveries down the road

Check the fuel tank cap if the vent valve is not working it will start to build suction in the tank and will starve the fuel pump similar to trying to trying to drink a thick milkshake thru a straw

When I seen the title, I was hoping the Sno Cat was going to be the rescuer, and not the rescuee. But it's been a bad winter for KZbin Sno Cats, at least the channels that I watch. Hopefully for your sanity, that changes soon.

Needs in tank high pressure electric pump, pressure regulator (and return line) and filter at the carb. Run dual heavy duty shocks on all 4-corners to smooth out the ride.

😢 I wanna see more videos of the tow truck,. I watched the video so much myself And l enjoyed wheeling and I had an old 1 ton pick up sitting around I said why don’t I build a wrecker like Eric has on TV well why don’t I turn it into a wrecker and help people and I have to blame you for the fun and ventures. I'm sure you will sort it out eventually. From my experiences, it is acting like a friends 318 Ramcharger from the 80s. For him it was a busted/cracked charcoal canister that was allowing tiny pieces of the crushed charcoal to drop into the fuel bowl. Intermittent fuel starvation. I hate shooting the parts cannon but I think you need to clean the entire fuel system end to end. Once you are satisfied, think about your gasoline supply from the gas station which you can't control. You can filter it before it is added to the tank. A large Mr. Funnel goes a long way to stop things up from getting out of hand. Good luck and continued patience.

It's ok Eric we are all sure that you will figure it out. I'm pretty sure that there's a screen type filter inside the fuel inlet on the carburetor, it is probably Clogged. Thanks for the video guy's.

Looks like the "rescue" snow cat is on the wrong side of the tow rope. LOL!! Good luck on the fuel system Eric. Ice in the fuel line? Or more dirt or shmoo in the lines? I'll be watching to see what the diagnosis is. Good luck!!

Once you get that Snow Cat working correctly you may need to add some hydraulically dampened seats to try and reduce the bouncing rattling ones eyeteeth out.

There are some track issues, that are not supposed to bounce up and down like that. My first guess is that the sprockets are worn out causing the track to try and jump off.

Watching from behind after the last gate opening it looked like the left rear track did a sideways jump. Right from the start something looks off with the tracks to axle. Might be Camera angle??? Hard to tell from here. Fuel tank to carb needs to be properly cleaned with nothing left out.

Put electric Pusher pump in line to your manual fuel pump to keep fuel pump up there because it looked like there was not enough fuel in the filter

@8:09... I'm diggin' that boat, with the 1968 Mercury 65HP outboard! It's a good thing Mara's (deleted) aren't any bigger; she'd have 2 black eyes, a bloody nose and a broken jaw, from riding in the Sno-Cat! 😜😜 It is frustrating, when troubleshooting fuel delivery. I ownder if it's because you're using a Siphon Fuel Pickup, instead of a bottom outlet, from the tank?

I like it so the way I see it if the baja claw can't go any further or gets highcentered then the snow cat comes to the rescue. I like watching it role on tracks. This may sound silly but I used to have a little suitzi dog. Watch ing my little dog walk on the ground resembles watching the snow cat move forward on the ground. I like it. I would like to get one too. I like the look of it better than Matt's bombi.

That cold if there is any water in the filters, they will freeze and the fuel will not pass through. I have had problems with diesel in the winter. Just drain the water out on a regular basis.

Eric so much fun in the sun for Myra to enjoy that warm weather drive in the snow kat. I would leave the tow rope inside so it has a little flex. I think you are right it doesn't like cold weather. Eric it looks like you have more work to do on the snow kat good luck.

Ive been a mechanic for close to 50 years and I learned a long time ago that a pressure washer or Hotsy can be an amazing investment. I absolutely hate working in a grease pit if I dont have to, plus it helps in so many other ways as far as "diagnosing leaks, etc." But enough of that, we all have our own opinions, love your channel and keep up the awesome work!

I definitely felt Eric's pain when trying to move bobs fork. Those are some 8k looking forks (theres definitely smaller sizes) I find having them closer to hip or chest level really helps, along with tilting the forks back for more surface area so it glides a little better. Try some different ways. I know it's hard to get out of a machine without boom locks in the cab. Our Thomas is really nice that way. Low temp grease never hurt anyone either and should be used on the steering and boom of the snowcat.

I always like to watch the recoveryteam snow cat out and about. I'd agree with some of the other comments, motor swap! It would be right up there with the Bombi build as far as must watch... although if it was mine, (and I know I'll catch flack!!) I'd drop in a 7.3 powerstroke and zf6. Something a little different :-)

Put a Canister filer like a semi truck on it or a Jetta TDI water separator and your fuel issues should be solved also install new 3/8 brake line from the tank to everything else

My gut tells me the fuel needs to be existing at the bottom of the fuel tank. I think possibly it may have something to do with losing the prime. On the other hand I may be full of crap

This sucks, may have to pump out all the fuel into a tank, pull carb and do a full cleaning. Put an extra fuel filter on it for awhile. Fuel systems can be a challenge once it gets something in it. Sorry to see. 😢😢😢😢😢

That fuel supply system just sucks. You're asking that pump to pull 15 inches up the tube over the top of the tank and hope the lines are air tight. Those mechanical pumps are not designed to do that. Said this before but hey WTF does a 40 yr Master know. Put a temp tank that's clean with a bottom feed to test it out if you want. Those BS electric thumper pumps aren't going to pull that fuel up from the bottom either. Best would be to weld a bottom fitting and plumb the fuel line to it so the gravity of the tank keeps fuel at the pump.

It's been said that 99% of carburetor problems are electrical. Seeing how the problem shows up under rough riding conditions, I'd be checking every single electrical connection to the engine and looking for places where wires could be breaking in harnesses. As thorough as you've been on that fuel system, you'd think it would be to a point where the filters could take care of anything that is left.
