I spent the season at a Japanese mountain with no chairs etc, just a ropeway with two gondolas. Between runs, I would take the lens off and stow it in my pocket to prevent fogging during the wait for and ride on the gondola, a trick I learnt from the locals. The Anon M2 made this a no-fuss operation. I am looking forward to the M4 with the stiffer frame so that this can be done with one hand (the M2 is all bendy and requires two hands, which sometimes gets tricky, holding board, shuffling in line etc).

Hey, Boris Anthony thank you for commenting and sharing your experience on the Japanese slopes :) We are excited for the M4 to be released and it should solve the problem you are experiencing. Which mountain were you shredding on in Japan?

I prefer to carry 2 pairs of googles. In that way (a) reduced risk of breaking the 'spare' lens in the rucksack/pocket since protected by frame of goggles, (b) don't get finger prints on lenses, (c) can change goggles without removing gloves.

Think with some practice the spy doom could be faster practice with them well wearing them.

Well they can be done in under a minute so thats good. Whats one minute out of your riding. In most cases youre changing your lenses one time during the day anyway right?

Ross Huey I have the Airbrake XL. When i need to change my lens i walk to my car and swap them out. I don't carry them with me because i don't want to break/scratch them. Takes 5 minutes of my day. I usually do it right around the time I'm ready for a break anyway.

Ross Huey i see what you're saying. But yeah I've only been on small resorts in the midwest so the conditions don't change so suddenly and frequently like that. At least not from my experience.

Not the typical internet argument right here. End up talking about shredding resorts... 10/10 Personally I like to keep my spare lenses on me in my front jacket pocket. Even on falls that area normally doesn't get damaged. Keen to see if you really need to change lenses anymore with the Oakley Prizm technology. If they're filtering light that well, it might just be the case of rocking the Jade Iridiums or something and not bothering with the lighter lenses.

Meh quick change and fancy goggles are overrated imo. I've had every type of goggle in the book and the only one to ever take me more than a minute is the Oakley Canopy because the tabs at the bottom are so long they present a uniquely difficult mounting process. I feel like this isn't that big of an issue if you're spending the day riding. You take food and bathroom breaks anyway no? If you really worry that much about saving time changing lenses you're probably a gaper. As far as lens quality and appearance, this is also a selling point that's largely hype. Now don't get me wrong, I love to look sick on the slopes and I'm a huge optics nerd and I have at least one pair of goggles from every major brand in the game (Oakley, Smith, Electric, Spy, Von Zipper, Dragon, Zeal) but to be completely honest, I've found my cheap Von Zipper Cleavers with a blackout lens offer the best contrast and protection from eye fatigue over all the other fancy, expensive stuff I have. They're my go to when I'm not sure of the conditions and the night stalker blue they come with is perfect for night or complete cloud cover days. Blackouts provide a greyish blue tint to the snow which is hands down the best for shadow perception and keeping the eyes relaxed. Sometimes simple is best. Mirrored lenses look badass of course and various shades of amber, bronze, rose etc make nature look cool but if you want function over fashion just grab what feels good on your face and pop a black lens in it.

I agree, i use dx3's and barely anyone i know ever needs more than 2 lenses, ever, 1 main one and one for like night. But tech has changed so much that, they used to legit call these things shields, now they call them lenses. Most cylinderical lenses now are even injected molded. But the lenses on those vz's will fog, im sure they work good with ur eyes but everyone i know whose ever touched a pair of those never really liked them. The glue between the 2 pane lense and the seal isnt as good, some companys even have pressure release mechanisms for it. Only the big companys Oakley, dragon, smith, spy etc can afford that type of lense tech.
