So this is my take from the animatic: So, basically, these guys are obviously at each other throats and consequently making trouble. Furthermore, the young woman is new, and they're trying to show off their own unique power to one up the other brother; not really interested in anything other than her acknowledgement of their views and choosing which one is cooler. Now, if you wanted to go further, she could have taken it as them flirting with her, hence the blushing and when the cat gets out of the bag about the misunderstanding, they use it as a way to see who can earn her full affection since they're idiots. I can do more, but that's writing territory, so long story short, is that they screw up spectacularly, and they end up being friendzoned. Learn that they shouldn't lead someone on, stop with the petty rivalry, become better people, yoda yoda yoda. And live happily ever after, the end.

Haha I think this is the first time I've gotten a theory on the heat meiser animatic!! You're definitely right that they're idiots and vying for her attention, but unfortunately they are her idiots so she can only escape for so long ...
