This was a few days after we arrived at our very remote cabin in Alaska. We had received about 11 feet of snow so far. It was very compacted on the roof. We worked from the roof and the ground for two days to remove it all!

This would have made a great time lapse video. Great workout, Richard!

Remove the Alaska Snow in the middle of the video. Enjoyed the video but would like it without the title in it. Stay safe and warm.

Easier to get better shovels. Metal grain scoop type. Chop the snow in blocks and push over the side. Sometimes rope works. Throw it over the roof, saw it down through the snow and then undercut the entire amount on the roof. The snow's own weight will pull it off once its no longer held down by anything. Roof rakes are fine, but need to build a much beefier one for that type of snow .

We were just using what we had. We will be better prepared for next winter

Do they make somethings to help with that?

yes, it's called a roof rake. It's a scoop on a pole. Mine has 3 extra sections of detachable pole in addition to the section with the scoop for a total length of 20 foot. There's one on the ground at the 3:47 mark.
