I got a question. Did you guys stay at that low elevation from ground because of low power level to weight at altitude?

Hi thanks. We stayed in ground effect taxi over to the takeoff point because of the tail wind of 10 kts. The way we usually takeoff from there is to do that same route you saw, but gain speed in ground effect and aft cyclic at the end to gain altitude to clear the trees. We were heavy (5 on board) and at 9,300’ so if we were to do our usual departure with that tail wind, we very likely would not have cleared the trees! So good decision to turn 180, do a max performance takeoff into the wind, and we had all that open area to accommodate an aborted takeoff.
