Never said my Pistenbully 100 was a big block killer, it just would not have been slowed down or got stuck in deep snow like all the big wheel rigs did !!!! If I wanted to push snow with my front bumper, steering gear and front differential like snow kings I would use my 1983 Dodge Ramcharger with little 35's, 4 speed with a 321 cu in full race motor. but I do have a 588 cu in Donovan injected top fuel engine I am thinking about replacing the 321 with. @@Devonradcontracting Appreciate the reply. For those of you guys experienced, how critical is wheelbase? Any preference other than for maneuverability? Noting I'm down on the coast, so our terrain is similar to what you've got in the Okanagan.
@vernthefarmer53055 ай бұрын
@@Devonradcontracting Also, seems like there's a mix of machines - some appear like typical rock buggy's, so is that a general base direction to head? In other words: run rocks and muck in summer and snow wheel in winter, or are these use specific builds?
@JeffCoates5 ай бұрын
Depends what you are going for. The buggy's work very well, but way less comfortable for a day of snow wheeling. Most of the big trucks are on 2.5t Rockwells. Most of us run BBC or LS base with NV4500. Wheel base doesn't make a huge difference if you are within a general wheelbase. Rear steer is what makes more of a difference for maneuverability. -Ranger/Mazda@@vernthefarmer5305
