I have an epic pass so I usually get stuck at park city and canyons , with usually one day at snow basin. I hope it get to snowbird at least once this year

4:50 So if you want to ski the Cirque without taking the tram, don't take PDog to MBX. Instead, grab Rothman's or the lower cat track all the way to Gadzoom and Little Cloud. The only runs you can't get to this way are High Baldy and Upper Silver Fox. Great Scott is like a 30 second sidestep from the highest available gate at the end of the Regulator traverse.

I agree lodging is limited but cliffs lodge is not the only option. I’ve stayed at iron blosam.

You can also get to Peruvian from Gad by taking little cloud, and hopping on the traverse to the mid cirque. Obviously this is advanced only, as you'll have to drop the cirque, but you can drop the middle cirque which is a not insanely steep open bowl that usually doesn't get very bumped up. It's kind of the worst drop spot for experts,, as it has the least vertical on the cirque so it doesn't see much traffic.

The weighting of the categories is screwed up. Food should not count as much as the skiing. I have skied the Bird every season for 10 years and not once have i bought food there or lodged there. Snow, terrain, challenge are all each much more important that whatever over priced food a resort is selling.

I agreee, skiing, ease of access, and lodging should all weighted higher than food. With the skiing being the highest weighted obviously

I am 53 and totally agree. I remember when a lift pass was less than $30.00. No lift lines. Fresh tracks all day. I miss it. I grew up here.

Couldn't agree more. Once I heard food and lodging were part of the criteria I stopped watching. Convenience, traffic in LCC shouldn't be included either. Those who come for full lodging, food and nightlife go to Park City.

I remember the days when ski mountain food consisted exclusively of frozen hamburger patties plonked onto the grill. I for one, am very glad to see actual cuisine offered at the ski resorts now and given how expensive skiing has become, being able to eat decent food while I am there is important to me.

Food, lodging, ease of access, nightlife etc... shouldn't be included in the evaluation. The most weight in the evaluation if not all, should be the mountain itself. The people who really care about all the other non-mountain amenities end up at Park City anyway.

I've skied in the SLC area since 1978 and have only heard that term on KZbin videos. Must be a tourist thing.
