Ok 3000 backflips but why not use the electric (and silent) JEEPS to shuttle the athletes to the top of the run. At lest this way you can SEE the buried in snow JEEPS (YO! JEEP marketing team) being used as intended. Sounds of the contest completely lost in insane buzzing from the snowmachimobiles kinda bummer and surely insane for the competitors.

Am I the only one that sees the jump tricks as the most boring. I hit huge jumps all the time and it feels great but in competition it’s the same tricks over and over again with maybe an added tweak or 180. Even the rails are boring in competition now because it’s all about how flawless you are, no creativity whatsoever anymore. I see people hit wayyyy gnarlier combos at the park at bear mountain. The huge jumps just don’t get me excited anymore

You're not wrong but you might be kind of missing the point of these types of competitions. In order to please a wide audience and still have an exciting event that can be judged somewhat consistently, it needs to be boiled down the way it is. The entertainment comes from watching people with elite skills try to ride that fine line, even if they are all doing more or less the same tricks. There is always a standout who goes bigger and risks more - that's what separates the winners. Thankfully Natural Selection seems to be gaining steam and offers another competitive outlet more geared towards core boarders.

@@dont4get2wipe yeah I guess it makes sense as it being the most popular competition for snowboarding right now. It’s all about ratings and money for tv. The local comps are way more heavy to watch. I forgot x games was a major inc.
