AnimeHDEvolution By far my most anticipated game since the reveal last year. However, it is still stupid to say how great it is, before we even see any gameplay footage (Don't even try and say that previous scripted cinematic was gameplay). Look what happened with Spore. I have high hopes, as Tom Clancy games are pretty friggn solid. But talk about how amazing it could be, not how amazing it is. This IS Ubisoft we are talking about, the company who loves making stupid gimmicks look awesome in trailers.

It's an open world. I think many of you guys will be surprised with how this game looks on console. I will admit that the PC version will most likely be superior. But those of you that keep saying "remember watch dogs!" should keep in mind that watch dogs started development in the last generation, for PS3/XB360. Ubisoft has made it clear that The Division is being optimized for PS4/XB1, both of which are fresh consoles which we have yet to see the full potential of.

Marley Fernandes Funny you say that because there are tons of warez copies of GTA 5, which is not currently available on PC. Don't worry, the base code was paid off already, porting it to PC is a fraction of the cost of the game, they would make shittons of money from it. And people do buy games on PC BTW ;) Rockstar is just smart, they obviously couldn't finish GTA 5 earlier, so they decided to stick with old gen consoles. And once they are finished with the new consoles they will release their game. Unlike DICE that was stupid enough to try to make the game for like 5 different platforms, and have none work properly. Also consoles are now pretty much PC's (albeit : not powerful ones), it's all x86 in there. "Porting" doesn't even exist anymore, some devs explained that games were a lot easier to release crossplatform nowadays because of this.

Blender last time I checked, was a modeling program, not an engine. An engine would be something like UDK or Unity.

Oh so want an engine. Got it. I learned UDK back in high school using the official video tutorials. Parts of it are pretty straightforward if you've used level editors and shit. Of course, once you get into a specific aspect like particle effects or material creation you need to do more specialized training. There's going to be different learning curves for different parts of the program but overall it's pretty easy to learn. Just don't rely too much on tutorials. Messing around with programs like helps boost experimentation and you'll discover features that tutorials might not mention. Remember, you can always just check a wiki or forum whenever you run into a problem.

Jesus just learn to actually code... you hardly code worth a shit with most engines nowadays it's all D&D. Learn like Java/C++ and get some OpenGL binding and learn what's going on under the hood. This will benefit you so much more than using some premade engine.. It disgusts me how so many kids go and think it's so easy to make a game because they all use unity or whatever to "code" their games. Just actually learn a programming language and make your own game and engine. I've been programming since 10 and I've learned so much more about modern graphics because I started with low level OpenGL using LWJGL as a wrapper in Java. If I had started with some D&D engine I would still not know shit. So please, learn to actually program.

KZbin have compression and clearly they don't look the same. There was alot Of Compression involved in RAGE since the megatexture would cripple even the fastest hard drives on there uncompress form. TheWellyUK It could look better. But because the game is for old consoles you can't expect anything really good and new. Even the current new gen can't handle bf4 just like you basically said. Optimization will help but if a GTX 780 is over twice as good now than a PS4 and cards get twice as good every 2-3 years then we are looking probably at least 8 times more power on PC when these consoles are old. That was over 10x with last gen and they were much closer to PC's then.

It will come out for PS4 AND XboxONE, but probably not for PS3 and Xbox360. The next gen consoles are nearly as good as a top spec PC.

DjNj23 Nope. Massive is actually called Ubisoft Massive and they helped with Far Cry 3 witch was graphically downgraded so again... I don't trust anyone connected to ubisoft anymore. Promoting games based on bullshots and false gameplay has to stop.

Ничуть не надоело. Геймдевы уже никогда не будут выпускать ХОРОШИЕ игры. Зачем оно надо? -Это бизнес. Меньше вложил - больше выручил! Дешевле потратиться на рекламу шлака, чем делать хорошую игру. Дети, начинающие знакомиться с играми всё равно схавают! Разработка игр перешла из индустрии высоких технологий в индустрию РАЗВЛЕЧЕНИЙ! Хороших игр уже НЕ БУДЕТ!

Геймдев всегда был индустрией развлечений. И всегда игры делались для того, чтобы зарабатывать деньги. Паффосно кричать: "вот игры раньше делали с душой" - это глупо, так только дети рассуждают или мечтатели. Разработчики обычно люди за 30, им уже давно наплевать на всех этих космических десантников, межгалактических диктаторов и т.д. у них есть семьи, которые нужно кормить и для них это просто работа. Проблема плохих игр - в издателях или тех, кто финансирует проекты в их боязни рисковать, в постоянном давлении на сроки, не желании увеличивать бюджет или проводить дополнительные плейтесты и т.д. Потому что выгодно идти по накатанной, выгодно выпускать игры сериями, выгодно выпускать их в раннем доступе по завышенным ценам, выгодно показывать красочные трейлеры ну и так далее. Так или иначе, хорошие игры иногда попадаются и они будут, просто всё это слоями происходит: появляется что-то одно - все в восторге, тут же разработчики вокруг начинают это копировать, делают кучу говна, потом снова что-то выстрелит, ЕГО начнут клонировать, так всегда было. Да и многие сейчас уходят в независимую разработку. Мне вот, например, Broken Age понравилась, а она полностью финансировалась на кикстартере. Ещё разработка частично сдвигается в сторону Free 2 Play и мобильных приложений или игр в соц. сетях, это довольно серьёзный рынок игр, который (к сожалению) набирает обороты. Разработка небольших казуальных игр типа Angry Birds или фермы вконтакте, стоит относительные копейки, а имеет колоссальную прибыль, многие студии сейчас работают по принципу "чем больше тем лучше" и стремятся к тому, чтобы выпускать как минимум одну игру в день, в России, например, куча студий, которая этим занимается, игры эти паршивые, зарабатывают тупо на случайных покупателях. Их целевая аудитория от игр далека, играют в них только чтобы убить время в метро, поэтому им плевать, что будет с игровой индустрией большинство из них уверены, что игры для задротов, ботаников и детей, сами понимаете, что ждёт индустрию с таким отношением. Всё это, конечно, негативно влияет в целом на развитие индустрии в смысле качества игр, но проблема тут в потребителях, а не в разработчиках, потому что есть спрос - есть предложение, как я в начале и сказал, игры делают, чтобы получать прибыль, не больше не меньше, если вокруг одно быдло, которое плюёт на историю игр, на культуру игр, которое покупает всё подряд и бросает при первых же трудностях, то и игры со временем начнут соответствовать облику этого игрока, что и происходит, игры тупеют не из-за разработчиков, а из-за потребителей, потому что плейтесты проводятся на них, зажратых, тупых и ленивых. Вот если игроки все разом перестанут покупать всякое говно, типа очередной паршивой Call Of Duty, то разработчикам придётся сделать что-то новое. Но это на грани чуда, вероятнее всего игры так и продолжат тупеть и упрощаться. По поводу консолей. XBOX ONE и PS4 нужно продавать, без игр платформы никому не нужны, поэтому всё действительно будет наворочено, уже вышел, например, Unreal Engine 4 в котором интегрирован PBR (Physically Based Rendering), CryEngine тоже анонсировали реализацию PBR, движки сейчас стали доступнее: 10-20$ в месяц и 5% с продаж, что даст сильный скачок в развитии независимой разработки, графика сейчас переходит на новое поколение вместе с новыми консолями. Поэтому, да, в Division действительно всё будет круто, с другой стороны не уверен, что везде будет так же детально как в демке, вероятнее всего настоящие уровни будут попроще, как и всегда, потому что это дешевле, но общий смысл останется... К слову в ролике не всё пререндер, но частично, да, похоже местами.

***** They will. There's a lot of engines used for famous games out there that indie developers are using. The Dead Linger, an indie zombie game, was originally being developed with the Havok Engine before going to Unity.

malcolmmorin Havok and Unity are nothing like Snowdrop tough. Those engine are specifically designed to develop, as you said, indie games. Or AAA games if you can pull it off. I don't think it will be open to public. It's Ubisoft's own engine, they are not going to allow licensing and such.
