Economically speaking, it's the frenzy that makes New York a sustainable project. It's the heat of monetary movement that generates and maintains its wealth. This is what draws me in economics as a subject: like the life of a living organism, it not only depends on motion but can be defined by the motion itself. It is as if the mechanical energy of voluntary exchanges generated wealth while being transformed into thermal energy. The icing on the cake is that New York looks like a volcano at night when seen from above.

go watch a documentary called hyper-normalization , then give your opinion of NY. (be warned its extremally mature and somewhat graphic at times , i think everyone should see this doc at least once , would really show people what we live in) having said that it is a nice place as many other places on this planet. i was lucky enough to be in NY to pay tribute to the 911 ground zero , never forget that huge metal girder that was still in the rubble at the time , in the shape of a cross if i remember correctly. 🕊🕊

That's the way we roll in NYC. Why fix the road all the way when you can replace a pothole with metal bump? Don't worry though, all those plates will be removed at some point, the road will be resurfaced, and it'll be a pristine. A city street our forefathers would truly be proud of. Unfortunately, since nearly all utilities in Manhattan run through underground channels, and we'll soon need to dig some holes in that pristine new road to fix/upgrade some cables/pipes/channels, and we'll start the wondrous natural process of road renewal all over again. Haha! Living in NYC all my life, it's impossible to NOT be extremely cynical about how we do road maintenance/construction here.

I'm not going to mention anything about the incredible scenery in this video. It's more than just a mere video, a lot more.
