Snowmobiling Yellowstone has been on my bucket list for years. Camped there December 2019 in -15f. Not for the timid but Awesome without the crowds. I hope that off season travel to these locations never reaches the summer season crowd levels.

We totally agree it was soo beautiful being there in the winter time surrounded by so much snow!

Hi!! It's Adriana your guide from the trip and your video totally made my day :)) I looked for your video shortly after the tour but it wasn't up yet and eventually forgot to keep checking. Funny story, my boyfriend was showing me your video on your van build cause he's trying to convince me a van is better suited to my lifestyle than a truck... dunno about that lol, but I was like wait Mathers on the Map, why do I know that name? And then it clicked and we found your snowmobile video and I was like omg I remember these guys! You guys were so awesome and I love your video! Have fun on your adventures!

Awesome video, I will definitely do this, I'm building for 4 seasons. Just a thought, you could put a vent with a computer fan with a thermostat control in the wall of your water cabinet. The electrical draw would be next to nothing and the heat would come from your diesel heater. I wish I had a partner who likes to drive. Always a thumbs up

I’m sure if they continue to winter camp they’ll use what they learned to make changes down the road. Another good reason to allow every compartment to breathe and get warmed by the same air that’s heating the cabin. Garage, storage, etc. and all water kept in the conditioned air.

All good ideas!! We’ll make sure we remember them when we build our next van!

Cold just leaks in from the floor....I have a dog bucket that hangs from a hook about 2 inches off the floor and the water in the bucket freezes even if the rest of the van is 50 degrees. If I put a towel under the bucket it doesnt freeze...just weird.. not sure how where your pipes are but if they are on the floor might help to slide something under them...even if it's just cardboard.
@MathersOnTheMap3 жыл бұрын
Interesting we never found out which pipe or fitting froze but it’s thawed now so all good!

I know of numerous ways to keep your water tank & pipes from freezing, but don't have room to list all of them but here's one. Double insulate the floor where your water tank is, then insulate ALL 4 walls around the tank (including the top hatch), then put duct work from there to inside your living area ending close to where your heater output is, put a small DC powered fan to draw the heated air into the water tank compartment & wire the fan to the same switch that turns on the heater (if possible), that way the fan will only be on when the heater is on. I hope this helps, Love watching your videos, Have fun yall.

Too funny. I live in idaho falls. For 7 months now anyway. I'm from New Jersey. Woodbridge. Exit 11. Haha I've been to Targhee, west yellowstone and Bozeman. Not big sky tho. Love those lifts! Haven't done snowmachines yet. Probably next winter. Have you visited sun valley yet? You're so close. It would be silly to not drive 3 hours west to ketchum. Tell Taylor that Mt Baldy is a little steep but it is so cool, it's right IN town. Dollar mountain might be too easy for you but worth checking out. Lift tickets are cheaper now but can't say the conditions are fabulous or anything now that it's been warming up. You guys should go to galena or sawtooth recreation area and xc ski. You guys should buy xcskis, boots and poles. Find some good deals. Probably can each get a setup for 500 each. The highway from ketchum north to galena and up to salmon and Stanley is amazingly beautiful.

Aghh I wish! We bought the mountain collective pass so we only snowboarded at the mountains on the pass to save money! Sun valley is on our map though!!! What made ya move from jersey to Idaho falls?!
@JD-fx1np3 жыл бұрын
@@MathersOnTheMap oh yeah, makes sense. No I lived in several cities since jersey: Philly, San Diego, Houston, back to NJ in 2012 to 2014 and then northern CA. Got tired of the heat and fires and smoke. I lived in Chico, next to paradise, the town that burned down and 83 people died in 2018. Terrible. I then left Chico in 2020 to be closer to the snow and mountains and so as to explore Utah, Montana and visit not as close but hopefully soon, Colorado. The pup loves the snow too. Next year who knows, maybe I'll be in Colorado. I work in Healthcare.

The fountains at the Bellagio got nothin' on old Faithful -- looks like an amazing place to put on my list -- the right season for it too... Nice driving Taylor!!
