I'm amazed at how well you both roll with all the frustrations and unexpected turns that come with your adventures. Very nice and exciting to have the ability to journey along with you both on the cabin build. You both have inspired us to begin planning in 2025 for our own U.P. property. So sorry for the truck damage as I can relate completely. On New Year's day I myself hit a deer with our truck and now the long wait on repairs begin. So glad that you both were in the end safe and not stranded. Blessings to you both and as always thank you for the Channel and content.

Our son and his wife moved from Central lower Michigan to north of Esky. I'm 64 and my boyfriend is 67 so I didn't think it's realistic for us to go off grid with having arthritis and he's diabetic. But we're still looking for a small cabin on at least 10 acres. We did find a cabin that wasn't off grid with 39 acres for $80,000 between Rock and Marquette but we passed on it. I've always since a child dreamed of living in the U.P. Every time I'm up there I feel like I'm home, that's where I'm meant to be.

Your son and daughter in law are about one hour away from us. Health and age was a factor in where we bought something in the UP as well. We are 30 minutes from the nearest hospital for example. So much snow! We are about 25 minutes to the nearest hospital and that actually was a factor in getting this property too. Nah, we didn’t keep the deer and our truck is being repaired as we speak! Happy new year and thanks so much for checking in on us! Cheers C&J

Only truck I ever had a deer problem with was a gold Venture Van.. I think they wanted to mate with it ... Luckily it was when either my wife or my son that was driving both times... So my record is unscathed....lol
