I am always amazed by how that fine, gritty, powdery snow can weasel its way into all sort of spots when driven by a strong wind. I've had it come around the closed windows in my truck and pile up on the seats (or on me). Nearly spit out my drink when you speculated about the presence of the "big drift someplace".

That wind was horrific! For a moment i thought it was going to blow you down. That wind makes it seem so much colder.stay warm and safe! No not affected by the Beast From the East down here in sunny Florida, USA. However it has seemed to get a bit of cold in the air since I've been watching your video. You make snow seem exciting. :) We had a nor'easter in Pennsylvania the past couple days. We had some snow, rain and ice and a lot of wind. Everything melted right away, but the wind lasted the longest. I haven't been outside today, but it doesn't sound windy today. I don't understand how the highest point inside your house is the coldest. Maybe the draft is up there?

Do you normally get much snow on your end? Looks like everything shuts down & cancels when places dont get much snow. Where here in Canada we don't shutdown or stay inside. That wind was pretty crazy & you looked so cold

No, we don't usually get anywhere near this much, and it doesn't snow every year either. Yeh - everything grinds to a halt here - schools shut, clinics cancelled, people advised not to drive unless necessary, trains and buses cancelled. All the bread and milk sells out as people panic buy!

If you cut some thick newspapers' squares and put them between the insoles of your boots and your feet ,you''ll be protected against the snow and the chill of the pavement. Also grab some elastic bands and place them around your jeans' hems whether you have to get out again...This will prevent the cold drafts from wafting up your trousers legs. Another detail ,try to buy some extra provisions ,if some roads are closed , the supermarkets might not be stocking enough merchandise...Give preference to mineral water ,chocolate bars and lentils...If the water is off ,you have reserves to drink ,and the lentils and chocolate bars are outstanding sources of energy for your body in case the cold gets unbearable...
