You guys do such a good job with your “real life” farm experience. Your chickens and how you care for them reflects good stewardship.

Love the chicken ideas! Our snow came yesterday a little over a foot and below zero starting Sunday night here in Central Wisconsin. I have a Flock Block baking in the oven.😊 My chickens celebrate Christmas. 😍 Look forward to your new videos.

Wow! You got a lot more than we did. We're expecting another storm this week and colder temps. Time to make another flock block. I'm happy to hear that my chickens aren't the only ones who celebrate Christmas. 😁

I always love the first few snowfalls. By February or March, I'm ready for it to be over and for flowers to bloom. 😁

We get snow maybe once a decade in southeast Texas. It never gets old.

Lucky chickens! I watched your video earlier today, and later this afternoon I was trying to remember the name of what you made, and all I could bring to mind was "cluck puck"😜 (♥from Canada!)

Thank you for suggesting the leaves. We live in heavy woods so we have plenty of leaves. Need to bag some up for use with the chickens for next winter.

We go around every fall and collect leaves from neighbors so we always have plenty on hand. The chickens appreciate it....haha.

That was a great video. Thank you for these tipps. I love my chickens as well and I'm happy to have ideas to give them some treats. I bought a cookbook for chickens for that reason 😂. Have a nice day. Lovely greetings. Madi

I didn't know there was such a thing as a cookbook for chickens. I'll have to look into that. Yes, it's impossible not to love chickens.😊😁

Thanks for the flock block recipe. In CA Grange sells them for 18:99. Now I want to try making my own. Have cooked my flock rice in the past.

I'll probably be doing some of both. The commercial ones last SO long, but the homemade ones seem better for the chickens. (at least I hope they are😁) Thanks for watching!

I saw a deal where someone took grease splatter guards and made seed starting jars with the jar lids. The Dollar stores sell the splatter screens real cheap.

Thanks for the idea. I was fortunate enough that one of my local friends saw the video and gave me lids for the jars that are used for sprouting all kinds of things. They work great!!!

Lucky chicks! And buddy has beautiful stripes! I’m partial to brown tigers (have two myself that likely came from the adjacent farm on Winding Hill/Fisher Rd. They walked out of the corn field a few years back, so I call them my kitties of the corn 😆.

Buddy is a gorgeous cat. Who knows, maybe he's related to your 'kitties of the corn'. ☺ He showed up here 1 1/2 years ago as a tiny kitten.

@@waardenburgfamilyfarm4764 brownie has similar mackerel striping (he’s about 5 now). I think all the local farm cats roam to where there are fewer kitties. They’re likely all from the same family tree though!

Great vid, here in Paris tx. the local TSC sells flock blocks for 16.50 and they will last about 2 weeks for our 60 chickens, we clean out the chicken house then lime it and put 6 large bags of wood shavings in the house and nesting boxes every 2 weeks, year round during harsh cold weather we have 2 heat lamps going untill it passes, for our 6 ducks we do the same only one heat lamp, we feed whole corn in the evening, and laying pellets in both 55 lbs auto feeders. looks cold there, nice black balded calves. Stay warm

That's a great price for a flock block. The commercial ones do seem to last a LONG time. We've talked about liming the chicken coop since we learned how to do it in our root cellar. That may be a good spring project. We have not used lime in the bedding or the run yet....something for us to learn. The weather here changes so quickly....20 one day and 50 the next. The farm gets a lot of wind which makes it feel colder.

Really enjoy your channel. Great, practical ideas & methods with emphasis on family. I'm just getting started with half acre gardening, fruit trees & bushes, bees & chickens. Don't think our township will allow more than that. Your chicken's preferences & hesitancy might be more related to pecking order. Since it is a scarce treat, the lower ones don't want to be bullied by higher ones, so they go for lesser value food or wait for leftovers.
