It sounds like your Chromebook is trying to open the files on the CD with the wrong default program like paint or something. You might try downloading a media player called VLC which is super popular and can play almost anything and have it be your default or use it to open the files and see if it will play them like a movie for you. Remember a Chromebook is not the same thing as a Windows or Apple laptop or desktop. It has a different operating system made by Google, kind of like how your phone is different from your desktop. You have to find the right program to use on your Chromebook to do tasks.
