Can vouch for the quality of these swags Ben, got one for my 18th birthday so had it 10 years. Still absolutely perfect condition only little faded. Even survived falling off the Ute on a gravel road about 5 years ago, not a mark on it. Mattress is still as comfortable as the first night I used it. Would buy another tomoro but I’m confident I’ll never have to. They’re a bit dearer but you’re supporting local australia manufacturing. You buy nice or buy twice!!

This is great feedback thanks, C Henderson. You are right in that they are more expensive but for anyone using a swag regularly, spending a little more upfront means spending less in the long run. These are the swags I'd be investing in if I was in the market for something new. ~ Ben

I recently bought and used one of these swags (The double) Great swag! But the ropes and biners are cheap and useless. I upgraded to some quality tie down ropes. You MUST upgrade the ropes as they do NOT hold enough tension in the real world. The mattress is not that comfortable unless you're elephants twist. It also wont compress so I changed it for a Darche 1100 self inflator. Rolled up the swag is now half the size from stock and very comfortable. The bottom corners are prone to wear with the poles pushing down on the canvas to the ground so I sprayed some clear plasti dip on the corners to give a replaceable wear protection between the canvas pressure points and the ground. Other than that, I'm very happy and it's well worth the premium. I also can recommend the AOL HD optional swag bag/ 3 quarter underlay if your throwing this on the roof or the back of the ute PS: I can see myself cutting those stupid bottle openers off and replace with proper D rings

Thanks for your feedback, Aussie Cue. I've not slept in these but I thought this foam felt much firmer than most swag mats. A self inflating mat is a great upgrade though as it will provide more comfort and a smaller packed size. Regarding the ropes I actually found the rope sliders to be tied on in the wrong manner so they didn't hold tension, and they worked fine once adjusted. Definitely not the thickest of guy ropes though, so this could be a cheap upgrade. ~ Ben

Whats the ventilation like?
@chenderson49694 жыл бұрын
Ventilation is good even with canvas fully zipped up. Some breeze comes through between the hood so no dramas in warmer weather. Zero condensation inside on cold nights too mate.

From my perspective ventilation looks to be excellent, Owen, with mesh options all round the swag. C Henderson is in a better position to me to answer this question though as they have obviously slept in the swag, and their feedback suggests there is no problems. ~ Ben

Good to see well made Aussie products. I've spent a couple of years of my life in swags, some in the old open headed type and some in the more modern mesh types. Maybe a couple of concerns here. Midge mesh is great if sleeping in midge country, anywhere else and it will cut down on airflow. Compromises. The other concern is the upright nature of the swag relies on the mesh. I have slept in mesh swags that sag, then got eaten alive whilst asleep on parts of the body touching the mesh, Not saying this is the case here, but having said all that, the reviews below show I may well be incorrect 🙂

I think if the fabric is resting on your skin then you are at risk of being bitten still, it's best to try and pitch it so the mesh stays away from your body. ~ Ben
