Taeyeon and Yoona are no doubt the most popular members followed by Jessica and Tiffany. Taeyeon is the most popular in Korea and Yoona really well known to the public. Non-fans of SNSD would have heard of Yoona. My bias is Taeyeon though

What I find funny is that in both America and Europe 9-Yoona 8-Yuri 7-Jessica are my bias, in the other hand I can understand why SooYoung is 1st and 2nd there, her image is very attractive to occidental people, when i got started my first bias was SooYoung becouse she was so beautyful, not sure about this but Hyoyeon's blonde hair may have helped her in Europe. And Sunny's hair color too, i guess that most of the Europeans fans are new and they stick to member they can recognize easily. (that's what happened to me at the beggining, i was SooYoung and Sunny biased, while i couldn't difference Yuri from SeoHyun OMG stupid me)

Also I think Yoona gets the last place in many countries becouse she is usually in the center and people get jealous becouse their bias doesn't have that much screentime, but for example in korea they got over it becouse they got in love with Yoona's personality becouse of Shows and Dramas, while in other countries it quite hard to find subtitled shows, most of them are in English and some people's English isn't that high or they ust refuse to watch it in English.

Sooyoung is the most beautiful girl amongst snsd. Guess she is underrated in korea because she does not meet so called typical korean standards of " v line jaw, small face blah blah" which make all of them look the same. I'm amazed with Taeyeon's popularity. Seriously, unlike other members we don't see her alot in magazines, cf's, variety shows or drama. The only individual thing she ever did was WGM and chinchin and that was long ago in 2009. Yet she managed to climb her way to the top spot only with her voice. She becomes one of the top popular kpop female singer alone. SM promotes the other member alot but Taeyeon hardly gets attention alone. Even in Taetiseo, they promotes Tiffany alot. Its like its Tiffany show or something. Without doing much if Taeyeon can gain this much popularity imagine her doing lots of cf's, variety shows or dramas. I can't imagine how popular she will be.

+shaye barton. Sunny use to be popular in Asia before *the boys* era. She became unpopular after because people in Asia didn't like her SHORT hair and Koreans prefer girls to have long hair. So they disliked her for her Western hair however it increased her popularity in Europe and U.S!
