@nickfeeee what? That's a load of crap! I was diagnosed with MS nearly 24 years ago and am now in secondary progressive, and never has dementia been mentioned. MS is where the coating of myelin on the nerves of the brain is worn away and you have lesions on the brain..basically if you imagine a lead on an electrical appliance and the outer coating wears away you have exposed wires and if they touch they cause a short..well that's what happens in the brain sending wrong signals to the body hence causing disability, if you have relapse and remit these disabilities usually last for awhile then get better, secondary progressive you are usually stuck with them and primary you lose control of most of your body and please God I never want to get there.

@@JaneH-rj9jtwell, step outside yourself to see that not everyone is as fortunate as you are. I had a sweet loving uncle that got MS and within two years he died. His brain was there that his body quit functioning. It was so sad to watch. I'm happy that you are doing well and living with MS; not everyone gets to. 😢

@@tinagriffith500you do not know that. As it turns out he has a progressive form of MS, he is very sensitive to noise and it makes him anxious, some mental issues as well is my understanding AND most importantly, it was HIS decision. I don’t know much more than that. But I will say that it’s not for me to judge as I’ve not walked in their shoes. She goes everyday, he spends most days at home. My husband and I are in our 60’s and have some health issues. When you’ve been married for awhile and love your spouse AND honor your vows before God, then it’s a no brainer to do all your can for your spouse. She hasn’t gone anywhere. He did. By his own choice. Maybe there are safety issues while she works. Who knows. Not our place to judge. They are bringing awareness to MS and that’s awesome.

She doesn't live with him, so how can you say for better or for worst? You stay with your spouse until they die and not when they get sick. Why they don't live together?
@bernadettecartin
@bernadettecartin Ай бұрын
@@manuelochoa9266If you read the comments you will learn more from the people who've been following this for a while. These videos just popped up in my feed recently, so I am learning too. He has progressive MS and is in assisted living, because being at home is often too overwhelming. So his wife makes the best of the good days, like this one obviously was, by doing whatever activities he's able to.
@francineherron1940
@francineherron1940 Ай бұрын
@@manuelochoa9266so you believe that once you're spouse gets sick you leave them? Is that what you are saying. They don't live together because he has a disability of some kind and she can't take care of him herself it's too much, but she visits him daily at the assisted living place where he lives and gets the care he needs.
@no1specialtoyou789
@no1specialtoyou789 Ай бұрын
@@francineherron1940a vow is a vow. You either honor them or you lied the day you exchanged them in front of your family, friends and most importantly God. Real love stays even when life gets too hard. I don't care what the circumstances are, you don't leave your spouse when they're down and out.
@damnhandy
@damnhandy Ай бұрын
@no1specialtoyou789 What you don't seem to understand is that the "until death do we part" is an affirmation that they will be man and wife until one of them dies, not that they must always sleep in the same bed! A married soldier or sailor sent to fight overseas hasn't left his wife. A married man or woman who is incarcerated is still half of a married couple too, unless one of them chooses to get a divorce. Think before voicing hateful judgments.

It tells me exactly who they are . Give ur mom a big hug today and always tell her story. Because she is the definition of a marriage. In sickness and in health for some reason has gotten soft. Many people aren't as lucky to find good assisted living, as was the case with my mom after 3 different residential homes. They were all nightmares. But if she would, due to much worry, pressure and work, lose balance in life and couldn't take care of herself, she would be destroyed after some time (physical or mental illness) and then she couldn't support him in any way anymore. You can't take care of others if you yourself are not well and this is a marathon as it will last for years and years and years. I don't think she would make it and since the facility probably takes good care of him, why would she have to be a martyr and destroy herself and with it the whole family.

She may not physically be able to handle him when he, for embarrassment's sake , has to be cleaned after he goes to the bathroom. If he falls, he will be too heavy to lift up. I had to give up one of my patients because when she started to fall I would grab her and help her fall ( if that makes any sense.) Got to a point however that I was unable to pick her up safely. If she is for real and this isn't just for showing off, I still applaud her.

I feed so many different emotions. Every time I watch your videos, I've tried to avoid watching them because I empathize so much that I hurt for everything you've been through and yet you send such a positive message with these videos. I can't imagine two people who deserve to be blessed more than you both. I will be praying for you. Thank you for showing the world how to love❤

You are doing so much for your husband’s sense of self, even though he forgets. Because when you’re with him, bringing the fun and the joy, he gets to feel that and it has to impact him positively on a cellular level. God bless you.
