I've got the olive green and have been using it for a couple of years. I really like it for lightweight summer camping, especially with the bug net. The fact that the bag is rectanguar, as Marty Stacey said, is also good. And you can unzip the feet if there are no bugs and use it as a quilt. Zipper is good, but easily snags the fabric and the net, so care is required.

Yes the temperature rating is fine 👍

I like the way it's configured with 2 separate zip. I passed my hammock through the foot of the bag, zipped it closed & pulled the bag over my hammock, cocooning myself. Very comfortable & warm

The zipper is bullshit, they should put the same zipper as elite 4...

I have had mine for a week. I keep my trailer at 44 degrees at night and during the Winter it often goes down that low especially this last week with bomb cyclone. I find it to be right on the edge of comfort with pj bottoms and a couple of undershirts. I have poor circulation in my feet so they were a little cold but I’d rather live with that than wear socks to bed, ughh! Throwing a thin fluffy fleece blanket on top made it more than comfortable. Yes the zip is prone to snagging but then so are bags costing 3 times what this does. The trick is not to grab the zipper pull but to pinch the body of the zipper between thumb and finger. 9 times out of ten this smoothes the material ahead of the zip. It’s a lot easier to do than explain. I sleep in a sleeping bag 12 months of the year, at home and obviously camping. I highly recommend this.

well ill be darned, ive always spent ages carefully folding and rolling my sleeping bags it never occurred to me to just stuff it in. you learn something new everyday haha

Yes I always thought how it came was how it should be, when I got a sleeping bag a couple years ago from Snugpak it had a tip to stuff it back so the insulation lasted longer, good tip though it does a nice job

Why do you think they call it a stuff bag

I have a green one from a few years ago, i think they have changed the bug net set up a bit from the look of things.

Surely if your face is against the net mesh a mosquito could still bite you through it? I've had mosquitos bite me through thin cotton trousers before. Looks great though. Good vid too.

I'm debating getting this to use in the UK this summer. I'm going backpacking along the south coast, and I'll be sleeping in a Bivvy. I've got the Helikon Tex Swagman roll but that's not super warm, so wondering if doubling it up with this is the right way to go.

How much does just the bag weigh without the compression sack?
@IMDARKFIRE00710 ай бұрын
Couple things here, first, potential buyers need clarification on the versions of this bag....there are two DISTINCTLY different bug nets on it. One rolls away into a pocket (yours) and the other just rolls downward to tie offs. I wanted the pocket, got the roll down via bad luck, I couldn't find the version. Second, Insects like mosquitos can bite and sting you right through that net, but only if it's laying on your face. Grab something light and flexible like a piece of molding and bend it to an arch inside, not only protects from insects but solves the annoyance of it touching your face. Also I would HIGHLY suggest pairing it with the MSS bivy, that is a bomb proof weather AND insect proof system that can hit 40 degrees easily.

I just ordered the british army jungle bag from europe are these the same thing? Its like the improved american woobie with a zipper. I also seen these have tie off that you can tie this and a woobie together for extra warmth. I dont own a woobie trying to find them for cheap here in the states is becoming a rare thing. I did get my jungle bag for only 30$

I think it's the same as the army jungle bags, snugpak used to make quite a bit if kit for them 👍 they do feature tying loops at the ends too

I like the look of this for a summer bag. Does the bag compress much smaller than you had it in the video? 😀👍

I’ve got a Softie 6 sleeping bag that I use in the summer, then switch to a big down bag for the winter; but I’m thinking about getting one of these to go over the top, or inside my softie 6, do u think it would fit ?
@hippyswift4 жыл бұрын
The softie 6 would go inside the softie 9 bag, but it would compromise your freedom of movement. If your looking for a nice big bag for winter, have a good look at the special forces 2 sleeping bag which has a center zip & is rated for UK winter conditions. I don't really use down bags to be honest as the down always balls up in wet conditions and washing and harder. Peace
@andy-mm2no4 жыл бұрын
hippyswift thanks for the reply, yeah I do prefer using synthetic and I really like my softie 6, so wanted to try and extend it into the colder months; I was thinking with the jungle bag being rectangular it might go over the softie without making it too tight. I was also thinking about using a Snugpak fleece liner with it. I like the look of the special forces a bags but I’ve already got a (very expensive) down winter bag so can’t really justify buying another full sleeping bag
@hippyswift4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know what you meen my friend 👍 I would recommend the fleece liner with zip, adds a good amount of warmth trapping

45F is pushing it if I’m being honest. That’s if you have clothing on for 45F weather as you’re sleeping in the bag. That’s not a “going commando” comfort rating.
