Here's your problem: at the head and foot of you under-quilt (UQ ) are big gaps that invite cold air to enter. Once cold air gets in through these gaps you end up with a cold back, (with or w/out Softies) negating the purpose of the UQ. Solution: sew channels in the ends of the UQ and run shock cord through them to close the openings. This eliminates the cold air entry points. You have to play with the tension a bit - remember to use cord locks to get this right. Cheers

Good close ups again bud , Just what i like to see when contemplating a new product . Snugpak don't actually do Softie trousers .. I wear the Snugpak Softie Jacket and British Army Trousers , The trousers are not at the same level as Snugpak gear but still very good . I will be investing in the Snugpak Pile Shirt and Trousers , Both rated at -10oC with the usual Snugpack quality . Spot on mate , Might see me out in the Underblanket soon . Luke

HI JANE I THINK YOU WILL BE FINE WITH JUST THE UNDERBLANKET THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY ABOUT IT IS ...IF YOU SLEEP IN A MORE BANANA SHAPED LAY THEN THE BLANKET WILL SUFFICE AND REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE, BUT IF YOU LAY IN IN A FLATTER CONFIGURATION LIKE I DID THE LAST TIME I FOUND THAT THE UNDERBLANKET SAGGED AND LEFT A SPACE UNDER ME THAT ALLOWED COLD IN, IM GUESSING THAT IF YOU SEAL TOP AND BOTTOM THIS MAY RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS, ALL THE BEST DAMIAN
