Good rule of thumb - if you got punished, it is CAT stance and the low is -14; otherwise, it is probably HRS and the low is -18; finally, for completeness, the other low WLF4 is only accessible after transitioning from a previous stance (e.g. after CAT4, or manually) and is -16!

I never thought I'd say it but f+1+2 is all I needed changed. It's a mental thing just as much as it was actual mechanics. Now it feels more like he's using his sword as a range check to outplay you and when he's in his rushes you can get put in a vortex but his lows are VERY publishable and now you can actually step and react to different attacks by discouraging f+1+2

THANK YOU DUDE. You are keep teaching me my mains. This Clive gameplay helped me so much. I hopped into some matches just doing what you are doing and im feeling a lot comfortable now with clive. Do you have an advice with the Wallcombos? in some instances the F21 1+2 drops at the 1+2, the 22 1+2 drops at the end of the 1+2 and the enemy can techroll and punish, and the hellsweep DF31 wallcombo drops at the lazer almost 70% of the time when i use the U1+2 2 1 or U1+2 2 PHX 21 as a walltravel in this instance both of the previous wallcombo drops too. The only consistent wall option for me what doesn't drop is just the 1+2 alone or the 12 10 frame punish at the wall.

Start throwing out 1 F2. Its a high high move that doesnt jail. However, with a clean hit, it wall splats from a decent range from the wall. Also, its plus 3 (i think) on block. The pushback makes it perfect for if your opponent blocks it and tries to punish, a f1+2 will always hit. Very strong move but only if the second hit doesnt get ducked.

The problem with 1, f2 is that it does not have an option to beat fuzzy duck. You cant delay 1,2 enough to make the timing similar to 1,f2. Once people stop complaining and learn the matchup, 1,f2 will be useless. f1+2 will be useless too once people learn now that it's punishable on block

phx stance is an actual menace. its a MASSIVE 50/50 where you can get absolutely blown up for ducking OR stand blocking. yoshi got a 100% 50/50 at the wall, but clive has a 100% 50/50 everywhere. dont stand block, but especially dont duck, cause clive will blow you up.

So far everyone I’ve fought using Clive who’s sent me messages about how I’m a scrub for playing him had no idea how to punish him. He has plenty of highs to duck under and punish and nearly everything he does is either unsafe or gives up his turn. His special meter that does a raw 80 damage at max is a bit much but that’s also launch punishable at -15. So far I’ve never been properly punished for it

What we need is TAA alternatives and unlocked fps, better netcode, mandatory PC benchmark at the very least for ranked, lag switch and [better] ragequit/plug protection, more optimization and crash fix for PC, etc. All this art and dlc should come AFTER the game is fixed and up to 2025 standards. But fgc is so far stuck in the past that they just take sloppy seconds and smile without a single complaint. I'm annoyed how low you guys' standards are. Its like they reached the absolute bare minimum standard of like year 2000 [of regular games] and everyone's in fgc is like 'yeah looks good to me'. Except that were in 2025 by now. They picked the negatives of 2025 like forced TAA (which is unfathomable for me), just fyi if anyone isn't aware - it simply makes everything look blurry during *any* motion, which obviously in a fighting game is ALWAYS. It makes for nice screenshots and nothing else, at the expense of gameplay. It has no right to be in a competitive game. As well as stuff like battle passes and such. But then they ignored all the good parts of modern gaming like the fact that we no longer are limited to 60hz and in fact modern displays can't and will never look sharp in motion at 60fps, unlike those old CRTs. So we have both low fps (that looks blurry on modern displays) AND forced blurry TAA. Amazing. And no one's talking about it. P.s. before someone once again says its not possible to unlock fps - theres a mod by a single guy that does it already.. but you shouldnt need to run unknown code on your pc, when developers could and should do it themselves, just to reach bare minimum of what is expected in 2025. It would do a lot of good for fgc to step out of their tiny bubble once in a while and check that its not 1990s anymore. If we dont ask for better - we will never get better.

the code for this game is still wonky at times, balancing is all over the place but one thing i can’t stand is how long animations take…. heat engagers, heat smashes, rage arts etc and half of clive’s moves have built in cinematics. I hate how they’ve made tekken 8 like it’s a damn ad roll, these animations need to be sped up. you can make things cool looking without taking me out of the moment and gameplay. rage arts when they came out i was like meh… but they weren’t as long as in t8, and now they’ve made half the moves a damn movie it’s annoying. it’s why soul calibur 6 i don’t like and hey sc6 team was on t8 and it shows why repeat rock paper scissor crap that didn’t work and why make these animations so damn long it’s cool the first time you see it. but that’s it. save that for story we don’t need it in competitive gameplay cut these cap scenes down
