Cole getting smashed by Shao sounds satisfying, like a throwback to Annihilation as bad as it was. I was hoping to get another Liu vs Shang end fight, or 2nd end fight if Shao was going to fight, looks like this is an alternate timeline lol. Glad to hear you get to see him kill some things though, Im really exited to see a better live action version of Shao Kahn. Im guessing Sindel beats Sonya after she becomes evil, then they capture her like in MKII (the game).

I don't know how much I can trust these leaks. Not to mention the fact that there might be several different versions of the movie. This one might not be what's going to be what happens in the official film. Studios do this on purpose to stop spoilers from leaking or sometimes just to test the waters before deciding which direction to go. Liu kang dying can be changed since he is usually the main character, i can see jax dying and even cole dying which noone really liked him and he was just a madeup character thrown in mk,i can see shao kahn dying which if this movie gets a 3rd movie and i do mean if than quan chi and shinok would probably be the main villians for the 3rd and kung lao may be a revenant or shang tsung in disguise from what someone leaked from reading the script apparently kenshi,kuai liang,kintaro,tanya,skarlet will be in the film and 4 or 5 other fan favorites will be in this but its just rumors,and I've read a script awhile back but it was for the first movie and some of the characters in this one was suppose to be in the first one but i guess todd garner decided to put them in this one but these are just rumored characters we want know until its official from todd and maybe seeing the trailer

i thinking copying the games story beat by story beat is a mistake. as long as they honor the world with care and respect it should be fine. as audience members we shouldnt go into a movie with ability to predict everything..also keep in mind Tsang sung and quan chi are both in the film...so they could have done some kind of manipulation to make you think lui kang died at a certain point in the film

if Kitanna is gonna be the lead, then they better lean heavy on Shao Khan, Sindel, Outworld, Eternia, etc., and i hope Liu Kang has good chemistry and partnership with Kitanna. I never cared that much for Cage, so whether he nails the role or not i'm indifferent about it. i'd be okay if Shang Tsung is more of a side-character as long as Shao Khan is the main villain. Admittedly it is disappointing if Jax, Sonia, Raiden, etc get side-lined, but as long as the plot from movie 1 transitions smoothly into movie 2 and is explained well then i'd be content.

From what I read and this might be false news,but someone read some of script and from what they read they will have a ton of characters some are fan favorite such as kenshi,Tanya and smoke and a few other characters besides the ones that have already been named,a cameo by the great Kung Lao and goro will be in it and supposedly an epic fight in the rain by two well known characters will go at it and one other character will get decapitated but like I said this may be fake news but from all the characters name,they will probably be the 27 fights that will be in this but until a trailer is shown or if todd garner confirm it than it's probably fake news

It would be so easy to make an amazing mortal kombat movie. You could even let a bunch of the main characters die in the sequel (like what apparently happens) and still bring them back. Revenants like scorpion and noob have always existed in the MK universe and it would be so easy to make the sequel the Deadly Alliance story. Probably not super popular with everyone but zombie liu kang was one of my favorite playable characters in armageddon? I think it was. Idk. Theres just so much amazing plot and awesome characters it shouldnt be possible to make a shitty MK movie.

Liu Kang is the "main character" of the games. No reason he needs to be the lead for the movies, or any other MK story. In fact, I would go as far as to say that he's the least interesting character in Mortal Kombat, so hearing that the movie revolves around another character makes me more interested in watching.
