Fun fact: Past Sonic (Brown Hedgehog Sonic) was actually a thing back then, in the old fleetway comics. Sonic wondered into the secret lab of the magnificent Dr. Kintobor. (Dr. Robotnik Backwards.) Kintobor had wanted to test Sonic's speed, so he put him in a hamster wheel. But Sonic (or Sonny) was just a tiny bit too fast, so the hamster wheel exploded, which turned Sonny's fur blue. Given this new appearance, Kintobor gave Sonny a new name, which, of course, is "Sonic." The two became lab partners, even working on a machine that would rid all evil from the world. But one day, an accident happened. That fused Dr. Kintobor, the Chaos Emeralds, and a disgusting rotten egg. Transforming the once kind doctor to the evil Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. And we know the rest.
