Hi Deano,I’m glad you enjoyed the Moussaka,and I enjoyed seeing you learn about something you never had before.I know it’s difficult to get use to eating foods you have never had,at 20 years old in 1965i left Birmingham for NYC to work as a nanny to 3 American children ,and I had to adapt to a American diet immediately,it wasn’t easy,and many foods I had never seen before. I quickly learnt there is so much good food in this World,and trying new foods is a bit of a hobby for me,and I am lucky that I can eat anything,even though I will be 80 in September.By the way I think the chips was to make the Brits happy,you wouldn’t get that with moussaka here.

stiffado is the best greek dish u wont need a knife for the meat it just falls apart and the baby onions are to die for in a delicious sauce also kleftico the lamb falls apart and again no knife needed tzatziki goes well with salad

That moussaka looked like a tasty meal, Deano! Hopefully this review will now appease those that say you don't eat enough local cuisine. Although going by the views for your breakfast video, it looks like us Brits love a good sausage! Which leaves you with a tough decision.. Should you continue to embrace the culinary delights that the world has to offer? Or should you continue to do breakfast reviews and then ride that breakfast sausage to victory! Either way, it's all great content for me.

The price isnt too bad, its good to see you trying these local dishes. greek food isnt that much different from british foods, no extreme spices, just similar base ingredients cooked into a different recipes, so nothing to be afraid of at all.

I love moussaka, glad you enjoyed it Deano. It did look good. I was in Athens last year and blown away by how tasty the salads were. The tomatoes are 10 times tastier than what we get here. Very easy to get moussaka ready meals in the supermarkets if you fancy doing a taste comparison.

Looks like Greece is doing you good. Moussaka isn't as flavoursome as lasagna or cottage/shepherds' pie wherever I have had it - it is like a lamb cottage pie tbh. I always found greek food somewhat underwhelming normally but have had lovely meals in Greek restaurants in both the UK and Greece. I would always generally avoid a place who has spruikers drumming up business off the premises. Mind you the beer looks wonderful. Seems odd they have very British condiments and sauces on the tables. Knowing you though, I suspect you will find some off-the-beaten-track taverna (or whatever they are called) and find a much better traditional offer. Is Mrs Deano enjoying herself? I think the mystery leaf is probably aubergines or even vine leaves.

Clearly, this was a "Brit's Abroad" offering! I don't know what the sauce over the top was, nor why it was served, nor why the moussaka came with chips and "salad". This is very typically not Greek. Moussaka is usually served plain, it's a complete meal just on its own. Corfu is a beautiful island, don't frequent the crappy resorts. Go instead to Corfu Town, Kanoni and other places. And never, ever, stay anywhere with a "strip", especially in Greece.
