You can use the green shade to blend itself out... I don't know if that makes sense. But working with her mattes, I can always blend one shade out but then build it up on itself in the deeper parts to give depth. Her mattes are super user friendly.

Agreed. More than any other matte formula I’ve tried, sheering out a Pat McGrath matte performs as a lighter shade of the same color rather than a patchy version. I personally would have buffed in the green sheerly on the upper crease and then built the dark green up in the crease and blended them together with a clean brush.

I like this mega palette so much more than last year’s palette. Last year she didn’t include enough mattes. I do agree with what you are saying about the shimmers not being special enough. There needs to be a happy medium.

Assuming most of the shades are excellent quality, I would say this is actually a good value. It comes out to $4.56 per shade and, while the Mothership pans contain more product, those are each more than $12 per shade.

As always, thank you for an honest review that one can trust as you above virtually all extensively knows and is aware of eyeshadow formulas and whether they're good quality, meh or bad and cost involved in making such shadow formulas. The cost of this palette together with there being no special shades at all and me being able to use other palettes that have similar colors make it a big pass. Pat usually only does the “special shades” in her 10 pan, 125$ USD, Mothership palettes, that she usually only releases one per year, and she had some limited edition quads, that contained the “special shades” a couple years back.

I absolutely LOVE that red, blue, and green you used! But I do agree cause I thought the other big palettes were $75 so I thought this one would have something a little extra with the shadows being that it was her first colorful one. But you still did some really pretty looks!

I have both of her other Holiday Mothership Palettes and the first one has quite a few multichromes in it and the second one has a few special shade formulas so maybe this ne is more made to be an addition to the first 2 in the way that this one has colorful mattes and colorful shimmers. The first two barely have any mattes at all.

I love that Pat tried something different for the brand. The price is too steep though and above what I am willing to pay, if it goes down to around 70 US dollars maybe I'll reconsider. You spoke my mind about this palette, just one special shadow would make this worth, specialy for people who can't afford any of her expensive mothership palettes but having just one of the little more special formulas in this 'more affordable' (cough cough;D) palette would make a lot more people interested in trying the brand. I would looove to try her formula, but never was able to justify the price , if this would have more interresting shimmers I would get it, because the mattes look really amazing, but not for that price tag.

I have been wanting to pick up the PML Subliminal palette whenever it goes on sale again. I am tempted by this palette, especially by the blue and purple shades. I absolutely adore the second look you created. You add such originality and creativity to your looks and reviews that is so valuable! I think I may treat myself to this palette if I can get it on sale later in the season. Still on the fence though since I want to save for the Subliminal palette and I'm eyeing Ace Beaute Paradise Fallen and Make It Black palette from Uoma Beauty.

The Make it black palette is currently my favorite palette. It also stands up to rain with the primer that I use and and no other powder eyeshadow does that. I like that I can use it for every day or fanciful looks. It has some duo chrome/ maybe multi-chrome shades. It's not a very loud palette, but it's still works great for when you feel creative.

I think that The Hela Palette + rhis Pat one can be the best 2022 combo. I have no proof but neither doubt. I was not going to get this one but after this thought I really need to try. Yo can go in every direction - including neutral- with a lot of different textures, I'll try to wait until is on sale though.
