What's interesting is when most of the writing team last year was laid off before release, the assumption was that whoever was left over is why the writing is so bad. It's actually the opposite, Mary Kirby wrote Lucanis as an outlet for her coffee obsession, Kristjanson may have wrote Baldur's Gate 1 but he also wrote Sera and Liam. Weekes is the worst of them all, to go from a character like Mordin or Solas to their vanity project/mouthpiece in Taash. The team was doomed from the start, experience doesn't necessarily mean quality. I used to idolise BioWare, but I've been waiting for EA to put it out of its misery since Andromeda. Can't wait.

BioWare's time has passed. There's no need to shed tears for it; the company you loved is not what it is today and it hasn't been the company you've loved for a very long time. This California Groupthink spells disaster wherever it goes and it's better to just let it go than to sustain it further. A creative endeavor cannot be done via committee and all of the visionaries left ages ago. It happens, especially when there are no proteges and only pretenders to take their place.

Corrine Busche leaving EA is great news all around, but I’m most disappointed that this happened now and not back while Veilguard was still in development. She gave us the shitshow that was Veilguard and then dipped, regardless of whether that was her decision or not. It doesn’t matter how many times she or her supporters tell us that she was given the role of director because she was “qualified,” we have eyes and can read, and her past body of work says otherwise. Yeah, she most likely wasn’t the only one responsible for the bad quality of the game, but she was one of the people in charge of it. And of course, she is only one person who is part of the bigger issue at play in the gaming industry.

I didn't get that far in veilguard - kind of a heartbreaking experience because it's my favorite game series. After seeing this art book stuff I'm not even sure I'll finish it, even out of curiosity. I think the only thing that can save Dragon Age now is if some cool studio with good devs (like Larian) buys the IP and pick up the torch. And use time magic from DAI to reverse that disaster to make a proper Dragon Age Dreadwolf this time. But that would be a miracle I can only wish for. And as the saying goes, wish in one hand, and shit in the other - see which one fills up first.

I've read comments where people proposed it was bad fan fiction from Cassandra, Sera or Scout Harding as read by Varric. This would explain Varric's narration of Veilguard even though he was dead most of the game. I like the idea that the real Dreadwolf would begin with Varric gently trying to critique this bad writing. I am leaning for Sera as the writer, since she has a thing for big Qunari women.

I never want to put the death of BioWare on a single person but they really didn't help the steep decline. If anyone from Veilguard is brought over to Mass Effect 5 it will most likely have the same result and might official kill BioWare? Do we officially know the development budget cause if I was a head at EA and that 200 million is true and it couldn't sell around 2 million copies (from what I've heard) I think it might be finically smart to just close/sell off the studio?

DAV was a clusterfuck and that dude had no idea what he was doing. DAV will be the biggest flop in Biowares history. I heard that game costed them like 250 mil to 300 mil to make, they got about 1m copies sold. If one game cost 60 bux, and the buget was 250 mil - 300 mil. They need to get 4,17 mil - 5 mil units sold, just to brake even.

If EA is wise, they should pull out DATVG out of steam and whatever platform and pretend that that game never existed and hired real gamer ppl that actually respecting the lore, the gore and continue DA from inquisition if they want to save DA. At this point the new shitty lore reboot will never work. DA is dead unless they remove veilguard completely out of this world.

also adding onto my "got All the dragonage games for $15, since Australia's dollar is the currency equivalent of actual dirt when not on sale the whole series (Sans failhard because it deserves to rot in the grave it dug and I usually avoid trash games) is around $130 or so dollars with Inquisition going for $50 and Origins and 2 for $40 each, seeing 50 Dollery doos going down to $7.50 is absolutely insane, that is the same cost as COOKIE CLICKER.

I would say it's mostly something that happens with gringos, but maybe I'm biased. I say that because as a bisexual who knows a lot of gays, no one swallows the flag in companies. I like that there are romance options, it gives me more to write about when I do head canons, but not that they force romance or orientation, that's EVERY person's choice. You don't have to force that choice. It's stupid. It's a roleplaying game, why are you taking away my choice?

The person who says "It's not both sides, it's the woke vs gamers" is correct. YOU might not like it, but that's just reality. In fact, I will do you one better, "It's not both sides, it's the casuals vs the gamers". There, it holds true still. Remember, a lot of the people pushing for these things, which ruins games, in a different time, would have been the people picking on the nerds, the geeks, your gamers, and just your outcast in general. And why I say that is that when you take a look at the trend, all the stuff which ends up destroying games and making it trash, all got pushed when these niche hobbies go mainstream. It was that with comic books, then it was that with D&D, then your Warhammer, then your games, then your manga and animes. Give these people enough time and they will infiltrate everything and destroy it. A good example would be the queen of grift, Anita Sarkeesian. She lied her way into getting donations by selling herself one way, but when you see all that she has said and done, she literally admits to not being a gamer. And you can say I misquote her on that or twist her words, but when you see what she does or says, it's impossible not to take it for what it is. Down to it, both the companies and these entitled people who wants to only see themselves in fiction, the only thing that happens when you give them an inch, when you refuse to draw the line, is they take a country mile. We've seen that with horse armour from Oblivion, which transformed into microtransactions. Always online which translated to only online. "Cosmetics" to being psychologically manipulative to drain people's bank accounts. Loot boxes, which needs no introduction. Dlcs to "Cut content to sell back to the customer". Day 1 patch to "always need patch and which doubles the size of the game because the game isn't complete day 1". Ads in video games. I have more, but it's so much even I can't remember it all, but point being, we are at a point right now where the line has to be clearly drawn in the sand. If we let it go and keep taking half measures, you are gonna get more of these things and these people will never stop. You might not care Nuhre, you might say we are all dumb for saying this, but fact of the matter is that this has been going on for over a decade now. And it is time to face reality and understand that they ain't ever gonna stop, because the people destroying the hobby are people who at this point, have so much power, they can do whatever they want and they are exercising that power to the fullest.

First they start with small fictional characters, and when people were somewhat willing to let it go, they moved on to the popular ones. Once that battle was won, they moved on to western historical figures. Once they got their way, they then go to other continents and other countries and tried to re-write their history.
