Damian Valle I mean that’s kinda the case lol. Soma dad emphasized the strongest ability in cooking was Love. When Asashi beat Joichiro there was suppose to be like two versions of him. When Joichiro was married to Soma’s mom he was at his strongest (Joichiro Yukihira) with the love cook ability. After she died he lost this ability and pretty much became a weaker version (Joichiro Saiba) Soma was already strong enough to beat Asashi without this ability so when he marries Erina his cooking is boosted to another level at the end.

Also the MC wasn't even the main focus after season three so that's part of it. It's cause English speakers emphasize the 2nd syllable when saying Japanese names sometimes while in Japanese the 1st syllable. So here he's emphasizing the "ri" part of Erina making it sound like arena. Technically it would be better to emphisize none of syllables when saying Erina in English imo but eh. I don't get how these youtubers can't hear how dumb the names sound when they say it like this. It's not hard to pronounce names but nope they can't lol. You know, erina and soma’s relationship kind of reminds me of Lucy’s and natsu’s relationship from fairy tail, which is why I think it works if the romance is not shown in the anime or in the manga? How do I say this. Soma / Natsu kind of have the similar characteristics as they chase for their goals and lucy / erina are the ones who’ve been helping them since 0 grounding or less. They argue but they’ve got each other’s backs and they spend more time together than most of the other people. It’s considered okay for me if “I love you” or a kissing scene is now shown (I mean of course I want it) but the genuineness and the platonic relationship they share is unique. They both know they’re the most important person to one another and they can’t probably live without one another. Down the line, they’ll probably build a family together but never have these cheesy romantic moments because it’s just not in their settings. But anyhow that’s my point.

I read the fanbook translation from source: noa's twitter and the author said that they (will eventually) endup together ,the author didn't said they r married or together ,and please think about it how come they're married f they didn't show a single panel out of 200 pages from the fanbook showing that they're together ? f the author said they married he will put it in the fanbook its not that hard , thats y the author said they will eventually endup together in the future . and here is the part of the fanbook: in the fanbook he explain in the final epilogue of Le Dessert, "Tsukuda wanted Soma and Erina to get married. Isolet you see that erina only likes/love the guy but did yukihira have the same feelings? or yukihira just focus more on honing his skills? The main plot of the story is about yukihira surpassing his father’s culinary skills and come on this is A SHOUNEN BASED TYPE meaning less romance more fighting and action. If you watch the anime and then ship the two of them or want them to have kids or get married i think you are stretching it too far considering romance is not the genre of the anime and then you want them to get married and stuff in the manga or in another season. I got the point of tsukada he really consider this and i think it’s really great. I did not say that i like/dislike the last chapters of the manga but i got the gist of it what the author is trying to do.

Souma x erina is cute but I would also ship rindou and souma just because they have similar personalities and both are funny together specially when it concerned tasting weird dishes, plus Rindou is equally if not hotter than Erina and speaking of hot souma x nikumi these three are equally delicious dishes. Though its obvious who the author is shipping, still its just my oppinion I would like to see some Soma x Rindou because I can see the chemestry there already, plus I really like her Cat like stereotype character she is on par with Erina and Nikumi at number one for me plus it helps that her VA is one of my favorites as well.
