And arguably the finest example of a legendary leader in all of fiction. I found myself feeling like I would have followed this man into assured death after that honest delivery as well. The best part of this scene, is that it holds the same amount of gravitas in either original or the dubbed version. Erwin is head and shoulders above any other fictional leader I have seen in my 51 years on this planet. The nearest contender to Erwin would maybe be Whitebeard (One Piece), Aragorn (Lord of the Rings), or Charles Xavier/Professor X (X-Men)... But by a wide margin. Erwin is the new bar- No superhuman abilities, no legendary bloodline, no magic weapons, no enhanced traits- just pure Grit, Guile, Willpower, and a Tactical Mind. G.O.A.T.!!
