Yang is Goldilocks, Ruby is Red Riding Hood, Blake Beauty and The Beast, and Weiss Snow White. So you must know who Ozpin is correct? The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz. The WIZARD Oz. As in the Wizard/Hermit from the story.

You know what I love most about this story? It doesn't have to do with RWBY if you don't want it to. You could tell this story on it's own and it would still work as a standalone fairy tale

I dont now how accurate this is, so id take it more as a head-cannon i guess, I've always like the idea that this story was one of Ozpins favorite just the way he talked about it back in volume & is what inspired him to make the teams at beacon at least, into groups of 4. As for the Names Winter & Summer i think there just coincidences & dont have any connection between these past Winter/Summer v our current Winter & Summer, P.S. Cinder's last in is Fall... so lets just say shes known about this about power for a long time & felt "destined" to take it

The old wizard was a hermit by choice and it's something that the series will explain in time. You ask good questions in your reactions. It makes me happy when reactors seem to understand where the writers want us to look and where they're trying to use misdirection.

Summer Rose and Winter Schnee have no known connection to the Maidens, except that /maybe/ their parents named them after the fairy tale... As for Cinder /Fall/, well... Cinder's a bit full of herself, so. Ozpin actually narrated all the volume 3 World of Remnants, much like Salem narrated all the volume 2 WoRs, then someone else does the WoRs for volume 4... ;-) There's so much more to say about this story, but none of it can be told without spoilers, so it won't be... All I'm gonna say is that Ozpin told Pyrrha that this story is true.

The wizard said he lived there for centuries, meaning he’s living alone because he wants to not because his family left him or something. The reason why some characters are named after the maidens is not because of their similarities to them but because what happened after the Great War. Summer Rose character is based of a poem called “The last rose of summer”.

Fun fact: Cinder's full name is Cinder Fall. Really fits her since she's the Fall maiden.

My theory is that Fall isn't her real last name, and that she named herself that after Salem told her she would become the new Fall Maiden.

Personally, I have a theory that the Fall maiden had a family and her powers were passed down from generation to generation, and when it was time to pass the power to the next generation it went to someone else. And now Cinder, while full of anger and vengeance to the person who took the power is trying to bring the power back to her family since she's from the Fall family. But after vol 3, she has a new goal of killing Ruby. That would be a great backstory, in my opinion.

Ah yes, you see at last, finally you delve further into the Maiden Theory and understand the deeper connections therein. Consider also; the 4 kingdoms, and their relations to the seasons, and you shall begin to see much more... As for their names, remember, everyone in RWBY is named after either a color, or something that reminds you of a color, because of the Great War. Summer and Winter both make you think of either bright sunshine yellow, or cold white... but then they are also characters that people in Remnant know of as a fairy tale and it's not uncommon for people to name children after fictional characters (or perhaps not so fictional, since we know the truth about the Maidens). Either way, it makes sense for those names to still be in use in the world. Also they're averting One Steve Limit; tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OneSteveLimit As for why Ozpin was narrating, remember he narrated all of the volume 3 WoRs. They switched up who narrated each batch each volume, that's all.

I interpreted this story a bit differently. The seasons help mankind in different ways. Each season is unique for their weather, environment etc. Some crops grow in spring some in fall. These sisters were helping everyone one at a time, but with the wizard’s magic they can now span half the planet. So at the end when they say; they’ll come to visit each and every year, the story is literally telling us that each season happens once a year.
