The mask.is part of the show. Every singer wears a mask so the audience and panelists judge from only the singers voice. Sohyang (her full name IS Kim SoHyang) achieved 6 consecutive wins on the show which made her the female singer with the highest number of wins and 2nd overall. Yesterday she unmasked herself due to an upcoming concert in LA and health problems. She has been on the show for 14 weeks now

It is a rap song and Sohyang never rapped before so she left the Competition with that song due to named reasons. Every singer has to unmask themself after they get eliminated by the audience and panelists. As I already said Sohyang achieved the highest number of wins among female singers. Yesterday she unmasked herself because she lost to her opponent with the score 43:56. Pretty close score but she probably wanted that because she has a concert in LA on 15th July and she has health problems. I hope I didnt annoy you with that much information ^^. GreenTea Addict She had cervical cancer at the age of 20 leading to her being unable to bear children and having a very weakened immume system. Last year she suffered from pneumonia and a flu and during her KoMS time she also got fluid therapy

As others already commented, the mask is the format of the singing competition show. The mask is there to help judges (audiences) evaluate singer's voice without undue influence of looks, fame, or other personal bias. Sohyang is an incredible vocal power house. You can be amazed time and again with her each performance. You will see lots of recommendation. They are all worthy for different reasons. My suggestion is "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Mask is the concept of show and it is called "King of Mask Singer." She is the king/queen of the show for 6 consecutive contest. A purpose of the mask is to remove the prejudice of the singer and their career and literally compete with other singers with just "a voice." Although some singers are obvious with their voice like Sohyang, people knew it was her in a first performance. Kim So-hyang (born April 5, 1978), credited as Sohyang, is a South Korean singer. She made debut in 1996 with the song "MR", which was released on Naver Music. Despite having a long career in South Korea, she was only able to make her international breakthrough in 2014, when she became the first Korean artist to sing the American national anthem at a NBA game. Sohyang also achieved fame when she sang with Kirk Franklin. Her has participated many times on television music competition programs Immortal Songs 2 and I Am a Singer, winning twice on Immortal Songs 2 with songs "Lean on Me" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Disney's making contract with her in movie Moana, Sohyang voiced the protagonist in the Korean-dubbed version, for the singing parts. Anything by So Hyang is incredible. You will not regret returning to this artist again and again for reaction material. Her performances are mind-blowing without exception. She is faultless in my opinion. Her most emotional performance is "As I Live" (again, my opinion), but English subtitles are not available on youtube. Im sure you may have figured it out but Kim is her family name (Her husbands). In Korea (Asia in general iirc), family name comes first. Kim Sohyang. Typically they can tell what family you are from and even generation just from their name.

That program is a competition of masked singers. In other programs, she isn't in a mask. Could you react to more sohyang's performance? I am a huge fan of her. And I am a Korean. When you watch her singing performance, video with English subtitles will be very helpful understanding that songs mood and theme. But there are many English songs she sang like 'Bridge over troubled water', 'Lean on me(Micheal bolton)', 'I have nothing' and so on... Plz more sohyang!! You said you want to see her face! David Clien David Clien Thank you so much!! I'm Korean :) So hyang is a Korean crossover gospel singer. She born in 1978 and debuted in 1996. Seth riggs(worldwide vocal trainer) directly trained her. He said So Hyang is the only asian who can be comparable to american divas(Mariah carey, Whitney housten, Celine dion and so on..). So hyang had an uterine cancer so she said she wants to give people hope with her songs. In that program(Masked singer) she won 6 times, but she said she is so sick these days because she practices 13 hours everyday. She can belts up to C#6, but no one knows her full range because she belts C6 with smile while sitting. Not only that, her falsetto and heavoice are heavenly and her emotional expressions are so amazing that people(even who don't know Korean)cry while listening to the song. So hyang is underrated in Korea, but in other country, some people consider her a best singer in the world. What do you want to know more about her? Plz comment :)
