We all wonder if Sohyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such _POWER_ it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself, with the input of her in-law family and musical assistants, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks five languages: Korean, English, French, Vietnamese and Chinese, as well as reading Greek! Let me catch my breath. OK. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all eagerly worked with her when they were in Asia. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. She was about 37 when she sang this version of “Arirang Alone”, their unofficial national anthem based on a 600 year old folk song expressing their desire to reunify north and south: vimeo.com/308253527 After being sick with pneumonia eight times from 2016 through to 2020, and considering giving up singing altogether, she decided to enter a televised singing contest called “King of the Masked Singers” in 2017 and won six consecutive times, which has catapulted her into international attention from the performances being posted on KZbin. SoHyang minha fave da vida inteira, além de excelente cantora ela mesma que produz todas as músicas que canta pra ficar perfeita em sua voz (além de ser fluente em inglês) nunca vi uma cantora conhecer tão bem a própria voz quanto ela, a mesma falou que precisa escolher todas as músicas com cuidado na hora de apresentar, pra mim junto com Dimash são cantores que estão além do nível máximo.

Sobre belting ser uma técnica difícil, acho q depende da pessoa, aqui onde moro eu sempre ouvi cantores indo bem agudo, tipo o Silvano Sales, Pablo do Arrocha, então usar belting agudo pra mim, foi natural, já outras técnicas eu tenho dificuldade.

Mas tem casos e casos pq esses cantores q vc citou já tem a voz naturalmente aguda, isso ajuda muito... E claro.. O repertório deles ñ exige muita extensão e outros ornamentos mais usados no pop e gospel por exemplo.. Então eles já se mantém na região aguda... Agora quando a pessoa tem uma voz média ou grave aí o belting é a "salvaçao" pq dá a possibilidade de subir bem.

Pq apesar de fazer sentido é errado dizer q são a mesma coisa pq a prega vocal tá se comportando diferente... O belting já tem mesmo a influência do q vc chama de efeitos q é tweng, máscara, oralidade, ressonância, e outros fatores... Mas sim, ainda existe gente q pensa q o belting sempre é na voz mais natural q usamos pra falar( o termo voz de peito já é passado kk) mas na verdade mulheres por exemplo sobem até um E5 na "voz natural" depois trocam a borda da prega vocal, porem continuam com o mesmo encaixe vocal oq deixa a voz igual nas notas mais agudas.

Outro caso parecido com esse da Sohyang é o seguinte... A Cristina Mel subiu um tom e meio em "Jerusalém e Eu" de E para G, bem diferente da versão original de Denise Cerqueira que só aumentou um tom de E para F#, e o agudo que a Mel fez foi bem alto (E5-G5-E5), diferente da Denise que só fez um Bb4, o que seria confortável para a grande maioria das cantoras. E da mesma forma tinha gente que não gostou da versão da Mel porque acharam desnecessário aquilo, se ela subiu quase dois tons é porque ela quis!! Aliás foi homenagem da própria Mel pra saudosa Denise Cerqueira essa regravação...

Uma mulher sempre vai soar melhor nessas notas extremas... O tom da Sohyang é mais amanteigado e bom de ouvir... Já por exemplo o Dimash ( obs: sou dear) q é homem, é incrível ele ir bem agudo, mas tem muitos momentos q soa irritante e muito extridente..

Ela canta d++, mais não está sustentando a nota, ela faz uns vibratos e termina rapidinho, não ficou agradável de ouvir desse jeito, mas que ela canta canta.

Mano não adianta querer viciar nessa ideia de cantar cada vez mais agudo, ela tá gritando sim, isso pq ela não tá cobrindo o som, e ela não tá cobrindo o som pq ela tá indo muito mas muito agudo e por muito tempo, ela tá toda hora subindo em F#5 e G#5 e a voz não aguenta isso não, olha a ariana grande ou a Jessie J, elas vão nessas notas soh no fimzinho da música e não vao tao alto assim, ou raramente quando elas resolvem viver perigosamente e aumentam o tom da música pra no fim chegar numa nota dessa, elas sabem q tem q sair com o som coberto, e elas na maior parte das vezes cobrem o som, isso pq quando elas não conseguem ai tbm fica gritado, afinal ngm eh perfeito, agr a sohyiang e o dimash, nego fala tanto deles soh pq eles vao super agudo, a sohyiang inclusive chega no A5 e no A#5, então chegar ela chega e não eh falsete, mas não adianta nada por q ela e ele soh chegam na base do berro

​@@pauloceresas vezes o menos é mais, ou seja nem sempre exagerar agudamente falando vai fazer a música soar agradável. Jesse J sabe dos seus limites e usa isso a seu fazer, mas parece que para esses cantores com vozes super agudas o mais importante é "olha o que eu posso fazer com a minha voz", porém a interpretação da música vem sempre em último plano.
