I wanted a guitar with a big scale length, I looked at baritones, and I was looking for a 9 string guitar and found a deal on a 10 string that I could not pass up... yes I know.. Ridiculous. Whatever.
The tuning is what I like to call Flop A (double drop A)
From The Thickest String to thin is A - D - A - E - A - D - C# - G - B - E
I'm here to make noise
No solos or clean jazz classical or Tim Henson BS.
2022 edit - To the haters and gatekeepers.... blah blah. Just use a bass.. I don't care. I have tried it. It's not the same. I obviously know this is ridiculous. You're mad Blah blah I get it. Go back to your 6 string while I get paid

God damn, that BEAUTIFUL red colour is gorgeous! I normally don't play anything lower than F on an 8 String. But surprisingly this actually sounds pretty clean for a low A! Blending it with a thick 5 String bass would make it sound huge! I'm now very intrigued by this. I'm considering buying one for myself in that exact colour! 🤘

Thank you! I 100% agree on this. I really want to buy a 10-String because I actually do want to explore the actual potentials they have unlike what all these clowns are stereotyping them for. Cody does some pretty cool videos with his 10-String. I also think some people don't look outside the box as well. They always have the same old response "Just play bass, just get a harp or why don't you just play a piano man?" Simple answer, they are completely different instruments. I'm happy to see people out there like you saying stuff like this. It just shows there is common sense in the world. Well done man!

@@BiRDiEHere I totally agree. I want to buy a 9-string guitar myself, or rather, order it from a local workshop. Absolutely any genre and effects can be played and mixed on it. Classical, ambient, noise, jazz, metal, ethnic, whatever.

@@S745 I absolutely agree! I probably should've said that I probably won't go past a 9-String. 10 Strings are cool but it is kind a bit much. 9-Strings are so sick though. I really want a Schecter one but they are hard to get hold of, especially here in Australia.
@S745
@S745 4 ай бұрын
@@BiRDiEHere Serial 10-strings, as far as I know, are produced only by Agile, and you can't buy them officially in Russia, only through intermediaries at double or triple the price. To make them to order is even more expensive, and not all workshops have the technical capabilities. But 9-string Schecter and Ibanez guitars are officially sold and relatively easily available, and it is not a problem to order a 9-string guitar from a workshop.

I simply don't understand why people hate multiscale. I own a 7 and have played quite a few 8s, and there's nothing "wrong" about it. And sure, is a 10 absurd? Yes! Does that mean it's not fucking awesome? No! And the whole "just use a bass" thing is absurd. The tone is different, the playability is different, the entire point of the instrument is different. Basses are meant to play a rhythm role, similar to low end guitars like this, but they don't do the same thing. A guitar pushes the song forward in the rhythm. A bass holds the song together. Also, I need that thing. Like now 😂

I've got a septor 930, would definitely not mind a Pendulum 102730. However, my 9th string is a .118, and it's tense enough for C# only at that thickness, meaning the even lower G# would need to be some ridiculously fat string if you want to do tremolo picking

@@Crazy.Beautiful I see, thanks for the insight I was genuinely wondering ever since I first heard people play down in the C#0 range (mostly 9 string stuff and the occasional loathe song tuned down that low for some reason on a baritone bass VI guitar bass hybrid thing). I could barely tell the difference between notes unless they did some crazy stuff with the mix. very interesting to hear that you can get used to it and in actuality that playing one of these things might actually help my ear in general!

@@Crazy.Beautiful Thank you for your prompt reply. :) If I may ask, have you ever played the 10 string through an Effects Processor (Boss GT--001, etc.). and heard the guitar as a "smooth jazz guitar" such as an Epiphone Emporer Regent or other archtop, etc.? I played classical guitar all of my life and have owned a 10 string classical. It was a bit "too dark" and "too muddy" for me. I thought that with an electric 10 string, I would simply be able to completely control the sound through a Boss GT--001, etc. and get that "archtop sound". :). Thank you for your help. :)

@@globalonemusic2381 The clean guitar tone on this guitar is semi dirty still no matter how hard I try and get it to be crystal clear. My realm is more metal based than classical or jazz. But I believe with the right effects and processors you can get a tone that you like. From a metal point of view I really don't like these pickups I prefer to pickups on my 8 string schecter blackjack. It's tighter then the 10 string. 10-string kind of has a muddy feel and tone, I believe it's to have more consistent low end. Can't really help you out other than that but you can always buy it and if you don't like it return it lol

I tried using just a bass in the past, I am able to get tones I like but never really dial in a floppy growl to it like a guitar does. The bass with the 10 string really compliment each other well for low stuff. If anything I can take the strings off the 10 and use it for an ironing board. Lol

@@roblosh8417 great bands, I just wanted a cheap option that had a 30" scale length or more that's a guitar. The cheapest option had 10 strings on it. Pfft like I'd ever use them all. it's a pretty guitar at least. However I did find it useful that I can can play standard 6 string E songs and then switch to drop A and lower with just jumping strings. No need to grab another guitar or tune when jumping around some tunings.

@@Crazy.Beautiful YES, dude that’s awesome. It’s like 1 guitar ready for any kind of gig. I’m still dreaming of getting my first 8 string. I have my squier tele in standard, and on my Schecter 6-string I used the last 6 strings of a 7-string pack for baritone tuning, but ofc the scale length isn’t very long so my strings are floppy lol. I’m curious, where did you find this guitar, sweetwater, local guitar store?
@Crazy.Beautiful
@Crazy.Beautiful 2 жыл бұрын
@@roblosh8417 finding the right size strings will definitely help a little, most 6 strings can handle down to drop G without sounding to bad with some thicker strings. I wanted double drop A and the 8 was floppy. I just love the growl of super low tunings. But I searched around for longer scale lengths and found a few options, I want a baritone 6 string, this was years ago I couldn't find any that wasn't super expensive at the time. Then I found the 10 string while searching for guitars with 30" scale length. It was used and it was cheap, the new ones are not that pricy either. I found this on Reverb. Excellent place to find deals. I have a schecter 8 black jack and I love it. If you get an 8 make sure the scale length is longer than a 6 or 7. I've made that mistake when I was younger 😂 good luck!

I would like a baritone, but the baritones I liked at the time were a little out of my budget, same with most 9 strings. This ironing board of a guitar was the cheapest option with the scale length I was looking for. As far a modern metal goes, it all sounds mostly the same, but the same can be said for older metal and any other genre as well.
