Its flex for world tour level riders. The tour magazine has run the stiffness test on Lab71, the results are bad. That's why EF riders are using the HM version with LAB71 paint on it.

I’ve asked a cyclist with Lab71 frame and he told me his frame is quite flex when it hit pothole
@thewinsty Жыл бұрын
Haha I did consider this flex issue. At the end of the day if I were to lose a social sprint against my friends, I'm sure the flex is not the problem ;)

Your position on the bike looks much better. 👍 Perhaps try dropping your seat post about 5mm to see if you pedal smoother at the bottom of the pedal stroke. It might also help with comfort in the saddle. Keep it up with the great content!

Congrats of the Lab71. Looking forward to seeing more content with that bike. You should think about getting rid of the Pirellis for something lighter and faster.

thanks for the review, definitely helps in my bike buying decision! BTW i live near and ride in the French Alps and that's a good call on taking the 11-34T, you won't regret it! Not sure that you'll need the 52/11 on the descents though, most of them have pretty poor road surfaces, have a bunch of traffic or have frequent hairpins that means you very rarely ever are pushing a gear that hard.
@thewinsty Жыл бұрын
I have done the Marmotte last weekend and the 34 was a lifesaver. Initially I thought it would be a bail out gear but I ended up using it for 90% of the ride. As for the descents, I barely pedaled and got up to speed pretty quickly. But I guess 52/11 is still good to have when I ride in places like Singapore

Wished you would have compared the Sl7 in terms of the bike and not the sram group set. Also kinda surprised you chose another climbing bike as the tarmac is a climbing bike mostly. I’m pretty skeptical about how much better the evo is than the tarmac given it’s geometry. Looking at your position I’d def consider a shorter stem. Anyway always dig the content 👍
@thewinsty Жыл бұрын
Actually my review was not so much a comparison of Lab71 vs SL7 vs Dogma F12, but more so about my experience and feedback from riding it. At the end of the day it is very subjective like how some people like alu bikes, some like titanium so it is hard to say which is better in an objective way. Talked about Sram to explain why I made my personal decision to reshuffle my bike collection (just give myself an excuse to change bike). Also brought up the other bikes to say it was not inferior (because some people feel that a certain brand is better than others), but I was also not trying to say that this bike is better vs SL7.

I own s-works sl7 tarmacs and ive road my cousins Lab71...they both feel great but the SL7 seems snappier and more lively..its hard to explain. Even though the Lab71 is slightly lighter by grams the tarmac sl7 seems just a little quicker when sprinting..its just my take on it..others may feel different about it..its good to see Cannondale make a nice comeback..but the prices of these bikes are so crazy nowadays..lol

@@marcustan5868 well all i can say is Dogma F is overall feels stiffer than Lab71. Also, Lab71 feels more planted in the corners in comparison. The stack of Lab71 is higher in comparison so it allows me to slam the handlebar. It is a lighter frame and my size 56 is exact 6.9 as a result.

@thewinsty Жыл бұрын
How much you pay for a bike should be based on how it makes you feel rather than the actual performance. Up to a certain point it's 99.9% the rider driving the performance. I buy different bikes because I like to try new things to indulge in the hobby and also because it makes me happy, and when I'm happy riding my bike I ride more, which ends up in a virtuous cycle

I laughed when he mentioned he was worried about a bike that is “three years old being too outdated” 😂 Sounds like a total noob, but hey I guess the saying “a sucker born every minute” is true. Also, why would anyone find any noticeable flex in any convetional modern day disc brake road bike, especially if they aren’t a elite world class pro?
@thewinsty Жыл бұрын
Being a sucker is buying a bike at full retail price when a newer model is imminent (at the tail end of the 3-year product life cycle), only to see a new model released few weeks after the purchase and watching bike devalue 2-3k instantly. That was what i meant by outdated, not about it having inferior performance. In the same way you don’t buy an iPhone in August at full retail price. True enough, Factor released a new model weeks later. Nothing wrong to buy the outgoing model, but don’t be a fool to pay full price for it.
