Parker, for that hamster to live a long and fulfilling life it needs a much larger tank. Those pet store types are much to small for a hamster. I’d recommend researching on hamster homes just so the hamster doesn’t die before it’s time or become depressed. Thank you for your time and this isn’t meant for hate I just am an animal person and it hurts me to see hamsters and other animals being put in cages that are too small. Thanks again.

My only request for you is a better cage set up. You might wanna either make a bin cage for the cute lil thing or perhaps get a tank that you modify. Hamsters dwarf or otherwise arent specifically climbers but they do need lots of roaming space and since he can't exactly be out of the cage 24/7 you're gonna wanna make sure that setup is also roomy for him. Kaytee cages meet the legal minimum requirement but they usually just lead to depressed hammies :( Also since you got aspen bedding make sure to get him lots of soft stuff to sleep on that he can't accidentally eat. Also many many toys so he isnt bored! And of course make sure to feed him veggies along side dry food every few days but double check whats safe for him. And only do fruit once a week! I hope lil Reggie lives a long happy life

Parker I really hope you look up proper hamster care, try ErinsAnimals online to see how you need a much bigger enclosure, how bad the bedding can be for you, how dangerous hamster balls are and how big the wheel needs to be! I’m sure you want the Little one to be super happy and not stressed at all! If you do research these things he truly will be the most coveted little guy!

Some hamsters like hamster balls and some don’t, this one seems happy as it keeps moving and doesn’t scratch or bite at the ball, just make sure it’s supervised

@@toybonniesfm they may like them or not, doesn’t make them very safe and once the damage has been done, it’s been done. If their feet get caught in the little vent holes (and all popular brand hamster balls vents are definitely big enough for this to happen to), then it could break its leg quite easily. As well as the danger of it losing control to a point where even if it’s supervised it can injure itself inside of it. It keeps moving because it has the space to. Doesn’t mean it enjoys it. Regardless, there’s plenty of research that can be done into hamster care as opposed to impulse buying with no research! Hamster balls are just part of it! I mean no disrespect! Xo

Hey Parker! Excited about the new hamster but please do some research before you do anything with the little guy. Plastic cages like the one you got are not healthy and are a PAIN to clean. I would recommend a glass tank with a mesh roof. Also, for the future I would highly advise you adopt instead of getting pets from a shop. Idk if you know about puppy mills but there are equivalents of those for rodents where they are just over bred and treated poorly. Many of them do come sick so watch out for that too! Hope you understand that I am trying to offer advice from one animal lover to another
