routers slow down the game (just like in any other game with similar mechanics) because for each chunk of resource they need to run logic to decide where it goes, so for big networks that are always active it's better to use them only if really necessary (or join many smaller ones in a single big one) if you can. For turrets it doesn't really matter much as even a large amount of turrets won't use a whole lot of resources.

@@marcogenovesi8570 though overflow gates and everything else also need to run logics for each chunk of resources if you're talking about routers being "random", that's actually wrong, as they're deterministic

@@somerandomguy-3102 No I don't think there is pseudorandom to split stuff equally between multiple outputs. I assume it's done with just a "flip flop" type logic. It is basic, but is still logic and needs to be run somewhere.

@@Minded_ I'm still using the same silicon smelter schematic I made when I first set up a silicon smelter despite it being larger than I actually have belts to feed. (6 smelters process alot of sand)

As someone who watched you play this before, it makes me unreasonably happy that you're not using lines of routers anymore. That will actually help you in the later levels, when the waves come fast enough ammo throughput becomes a legitamate concern. But for now it just gives "good design" tingles to the people who care (me).

The enemy goes the fastest way to the core (relative to where they spawn) every time so when they went right the first wave they will keep going that way unless you put a wall then they will go the second fastest way around, It can help save alot of materials in desperate times and for when you go against the crawlers, if you only left 1 line of walls on the right they would all go that way

Another example is how in the 2nd map the reason the first wave went down instead of the other ways is because it's the fastest to the core, if you placed turrets their he would still go that way but only if it was still faster than the other way ( it might not after because of their being more stuff to shoot at to get through) so if you would place 2 layers of walls in the left and middle he would only ever go right

Woohoo! More Mindustry! Not sure if you care for tips...if not, please ignore the rest of this comment. I kept adding to it as I watched. Hopefully you figured this out later but you can take resources with you when you launch, so make sure you launch with max resources! Not a big deal early game but necessary later on. Some of the levels on Mindustry have random spawn/landing points whenever you play. Ground Zero is always the same but there are three possible enemy spawn points on Frozen Forest, and a few different landing points. The enemies always take the "easiest" path to their target (usually the core, but not always!), but "easiest" basically only takes into account the HP of the blocks in the path. The reason the waves kept changing paths in Frozen Forest is because you put stronger walls on the other paths. That's a key point, because the real trick to this game is controlling the path the enemies take. So for example in Frozen Forest, you could have blocked off two paths without turrets, and then left a gap in your walls on the third path and packed all the turrets in there. Also, I wasn't going to say anything, but that ammunition issue in Frozen Forest (43:00)? That's the router chain. Those turrets on the left can't be fed fast enough. My strategy that I used way back on my first playthrough was to use distributors feeding 7 Duos (equally). They were like little Duo flowers. 😊 Others have pointed it out, but hopefully you also figured out that you did unlock the graphite press and could have unlocked more research on Frozen Forest!

there is a map which all sectors on the wiki page and also make it easier to find where all the outposts are and such and i recomend after getting the drill that needs power and you have like good turrets unlocked and want to get thoruim sector 223 and sector 85 you can get thoruim without losing both sectors but be prepared
