To be honest, some of them are true crap, but some people are genuinely talented. I like reading fanfiction because I'm a Literature major, so it's a low-maintenance reading I can keep on my phone to distract me from all the Shakespeare. It's truly really fun.

Also, like Lina said, 74 pages is really nothing much. There are some like Harry Potter fics (for example) that go over 80 chapters/a million words, and quite a number of them have fantastic writing styles and explore plenty of things Ms. Rowling didn't. So no, fanfiction isn't a waste of time.

Hmm... I don't think it's because people are shocked or making a huge fuzz about it. It's a part of who he is and that deserves to be recognised. It may not be a huge deal for most of the people here but for people who are in the same situation Connor was it is. He is an inspiration and I honestly look up to him for finding this much courage. 1) it's something that sticks out 2) lots of people like to watch a lot of coming out videos, especially when they're in the closet but even others. I enjoy a good coming out story. 3) have you seen all of the news articles about his coming out? And many have the video included. 4) as for why the articles, it's still novel. And it's important. Seeing guys like Connor coming out can mean the world to other gay people, especially youth.
