Enterprise has always been good to me. I swapped vehicles 3 times when one of mine was in the process of being totaled because we were going on vacation and needed a minivan in the middle. Had a compact before and after for several days each. And when one of our cars was having engine issues out of town, they rented me a Tacoma that I used to tow the Vibe back to my house. It was a great rental that I put 2k miles on in about 5 days! And it only cost me $180! 😂 Hope your truck is fixed Randy!

The shorter gearing (higher number). DEFINITELY makes a difference in towing. I used to tow 10k lbs with a 2000 F350 7.3 dually. The stock gearing was 3.73 and it was fine but would struggle to accelerate up steeper grades. I upgraded to 4.10s and the difference was night and day.

I didn't leave a comment on the Blazer video, but I wanted to leave one this video because Enterprise was mentioned. We had the four-door version in our fleet. The big wheels and knobby tires on the rebel make a huge difference in the ride, noise and fuel economy. Also the shorter towing gears really make an impact too. What’s great about this more basic truck is, the base trucks are also pretty darn good right out of the box. Your red Rebel has more actual heavy towing and off highway grip, but your black rental has better highway manners and fuel economy and is more affordable. When you tow, it will work harder and chew through more gas, but you will more than make up for that while not towing. There are benefits to the standard tire and gearing trucks which many enthusiasts scoff about, but are real as your discovering with this rental.

They have already had a lot of trucks and SUV’s come in with manifold boost pressure codes, random cylinder misfire, cam correlation codes. That’s just the codes he mentioned. He said there was all kind of problems and that you’ll be lucky if that motor hits 100,000 miles. At 13:00, I fully agree there’s a lot of idiots on the road but you shouldn’t be holding a camera while you’re driving, especially on wet/icy roads. Randy, I have 2020 RAM 1500, Hemi 5.7. About a year ago I had a code show, P306, showed to be cyl 6 misfire. Dealer updated software and solved the problem. However I let my battery rundown and had to be jumped. I guess I lost update. Mine does same thing idling for a long light or sitting. Clears up after driving. I just had 100,000 mi tuneup, new plugs but still idles rough. Your Rebel sounds like a software problem with so many codes. I'm no mechanic but with a new truck and suddenly that many codes, computer/software.

You should’ve kept your Hemi. That truck with the higher rear gears is going to tow like crap with that in-line 6 and that crap transmission. That’s why your Rebel with the lower rear gears is outfitted with the trailer brake option. We’ve had tons of Rams in the fleet and have had nothing but trans issues over 5 years of leasing them, exhaust issues and a few other mechanical issues. We moved to Ford and have only had 1 issue out of several trucks. Plus we can still get various V8 engines.

I have an attorney friend that would have Ram buy the Rebel back in a month. Forget Lemon laws. It already meets standards for devaluation and lost use due to defects. The dealer ran out of loaners because they have so many dead Rams. Ram is paying it on dealer contract for warranty repairs. It was crazy that you bought a Ram because it's common knowledge the new ones are prone to breakdowns.

I saw a report about a week ago that RAM is discounting their trucks up to 35%. It's not because of problems but because of poor sales and dealer overstocks. Other Truck dealers like GM and Ford are having the same problems. Ford is even dropping prices on everything from truck's to the Mach E Mustangs. The past Covid price increase's are destroying vehicle sales along with the economy. Time they came back down to earth.

The lemon law scenario is a pain in the a@@ i bought a 2016 patriot go figure damn chrysler products anyway got it with 10 miles and by time i hit 500 abs light came on. Well it took 9 times for them to finally "fixed" altho i had alot of dings but no lights coming on but after the 3rd time in i filed lemon law and just had to keep taking it into be repaired well 11 months later i finally got every payment ever made back. SUPERB pain in the a@@

I like cloth seats better. I think they’re softer, more comfortable, cooler in the summer.

I take it these Hurricane engines are junk? Shame if so. The V6's almost never had issues, yes, the 2.7's were junk, but the 3.6's are good engines.

My mom’s 22 Durango with the 3.6 just had the top end rebuilt due to loss of power and a clear lifter tick, only had 70k miles too….

How many rpms at the same speed is the other? The towing axle may be overkill for you, but it may be one of those things where it is better to have the towing capacity and not need it vs not having the towing capacity and needing it.

@joeromani9108 That 3.92 rear axle isn’t using as much fuel as people think. It’s been around FOREVER. All 3 of my 1500’s (14, 17 & 23) have the 3.92. My 14 Reg Cab Blacked Out Express Package 2wd 5.7 6spd came from the factory with the 3.21 open diff. Had the Mopar 3.92 limited slip installed by the dealer-and it didn’t really change my fuel economy. That truck from NC-TX avgs 23.5-24mpg. Both my quad cabs with 8spds are doing 21-22.

I agree with you, no sound is nice for peace for once in a while and yea people are nuts these days when it comes to driving. I just don't sweat the little things. You could try trade in for one of them from the truck you have, something to think about. New cars break before used ones in my experiences of driving for 26-27 years while driving a fair number of cars that last longer and cheaper than some.

You said that truck doesn’t have heated seats or a heated steering wheel. I see the controls for them on the stereo. Yes it doesn’t have cooled seats being it’s cloth but some more upgraded bighorns have heated seats and steering wheels. I’d still never buy the hurricane trucks but some of the newer trucks are quite nice inside. Not a big fan of the updated exterior either

their are problems with most of this new ones dont matter the brand to me its is how the manufacture and the dealer handles it! my new f350 needed rearend bearings replace at 10 k repaired no fuss fix in one day doesnt mean now i hate my truck because i dont and yes i will be keeping it if more stuff breaks as long as they repair it with reasonable time. if people think you buy a new, you expect everything is always going to be perfect that would be nice but thats not how it works in the real world!

@arlenboyer-v9v MECHANICAL breakdowns are 1 thing-and they are going to happen regardless of the manufacturer/model you buy. This isn’t mechanical-it’s ELECTRICAL. Specifically it’s the wiring harnesses that Stellantis tried to skimp out on. It’s not something that can EASILY be fixed. It would be easier/cheaper for Stellantis to just buy these trucks back-AFTER they remedy the situation on the new production.
