FYI Duma has a high chance of breaking the catapult since most people only run escape ladder and safety fence which is generally in the center.

@ so first kill an extremely bulky far save on stone tiles, then reach all the way to the back line to kill Duma all while dealing with traps, and THEN get back to the start line so the fence protects you from Sig and Lyn all in one turn? lol Good luck having enough actions and movement 😆 maybe doable but very very difficult if your fence gets sniped

Now that you mentioned Lyn, i imagine Tree man turning someone into a save, and then Lyn just destroys said save. Some people will just give up after something like that. I had in the past B!Seliph, and people forgot his +1 move, so he killed 1, got danced, killed 1 more, got back out of reach, attacker gave up.

You should replace your Sigurd's seal with one of the Squad Ace skills that gives Atk/Def, because he gets bonus damage on his aoe's and attacks based on his Def, and you don't want L&D to lower it. You lower your Def technically by 8 with L&D which is nearly 2 damage that you would gain from the Atk of it, but now you also gain that on your actual attacks, and can maybe survive or do better against Def checks like BoL4.

I feel you on the defense standards, got a perfect week on defense but I can beat it very easily with ELyn, RLeila, and BFelix. Kinda feels like almost no one pulled for Leila despite being obviously insanely good on offense. Defense team is 2nd column ELyn (S ring), ESigurd (C ring), 3rd column Heithrun, Briar save Tree Dude (sacred cowl I ring), 4th column BCatria, Thjazi (Pavise SF M ring), 5th column BMiciah (2nd row, L ring) on Jotun Castle. I feel like the positioning could be better, better trap placement, but until I get other people with hopefully different teams that can beat my map I dont really know what exactly to change.

Had a super unlucky week, -300. 😂 Every success I had was during LLC and every failure was when LLC wasn't active. I got hit THREE times with Embla, Lyn. It's simply impossible to have both Far save and Freyr cover all units in 2 spaces. So they were able to kill someone with Lyn turn one, and then my Hector turn two with some other nuke equipped with Lyn ring. Crazy cause I can't even remember the last time I seen Embla on offence, especially during Anima season. 💀

In Fire Emblem Fates, I made my teams this way for those that visited to battle. I was hard on myself too. Having both outside the box builds like Kinshi Knight Takumi and Spear Master Reina (Partner seal turns her to the avatar's talent), and obvious builds like Master Ninja Saizo and Onmiyoji Hataro got as good as they could get. That's when I left to a different game 😂😂😂. More stuff will drop and I'm sure you'll tweak some things. Keep your standards high! That's the best self-improvement.

I cant tell you HOW MUCH testing I did with my own Emblem Lyn against my own Dark Defense! Heres to hoping holiday Demon King can tank her! He seems to work against mine, even with massive support buffs on Lyn, but I am still scared of her so badly!

Few thoughts: What about using the upcoming barricade+ far save to free up the gatekeeper spot? Would Laeradr work as a far save? You could still run Hector as a near save You mentioned needing 3 metrics to score max, but i thought 2 was enough. 2 mythics x 3 blessed = 3 mythics x 2 blessed (since we don't count the extra slot unit for scoring). Unless you were talking about merges, which i also thought the max was 20 which is achievable with 2 mythics

+10 triple mythic gives you the highest score

As soon as you have any merges on the 3 mythics, they immediately start scoring higher than 2 mythics do. Each mythic merge is an additional point to your overall score.

Tree man killed a Brave Felix that was running through my chaos season team, and I never felt so happy. Another moment I was so proud was this one bozo who just planted his Emblem Ike right in front of my team, thinking he'd solo all of them. Then my Corrin proceeded to delete that Emblem Ike because she had Hardy Berring. As soon as that Ike died, he just surrendered immediately.

Anima defense is borderline impossible against a well supported Nidhoggr right now. I use my astra team against my highly supported save ball with shield fighter on each and they eventually get baited out to her. Even against Undefended she still frontlines. I’m losing to her on enemy teams even with base kit unmerged. I’ve been testing it the last few days and I agree with you, if I can beat it, it’s not good enough.

To be fair, there will never be a defence unbeatable so I think it is unrealistic to create a defence that you yourself cant beat. Especially with the insanity that Lyn and 2 Turn safty fence has brought .

I gotta respect the high standards you set for your team, Tacho. And yeah, I'm just vibing back into the Vault this week, as usual. Funny how Bridal Embla into Celica Ring Gullveig just works sometimes. Heavy emphasis on "sometimes". And offense, since I got Niohoggr and Thorr remix, is much better. I only changed one team, which was swap my +2 Base Laevatein's DC BD for just Finish, and she just stands against most threats, provided they dont all rush her. Now, I should probably remake my Dark Team, cause I lack both Mythic merges and an ideal team, so I'm gonna cook for myself something special for me. 🐀

The Celica ring suggestion may have just saved my defense. I have barricade on my Eik but I doubt most people will. I was using her with Sigurd ring but that definitely puts more pressure on them! Thank you!

I was thinking about that too, but Laeradr isn't built to far save tank units like Ninja Lucina/Emblem Lyn/Brave Bernie. Especially not with shield fighter. He can get away with being a near save since there aren't any good brave/potent attacking melee units right now

Arena and AR scoring haven't changed in all these years, so even old videos will give you accurate information. For arena, build a +10 Marni and Panette, since they are the highest scoring F2P options. Possibly even build 2 Marnis if you have the grails for it, she's hilariously busted in arena lmao

Similar issue here. She does beat miracle and vantage tanks like Eirika and Celine, but hard defensive tanks like Caeda and Timerra are still a threat.

E!Lyn + Duo Alear might just be your go to option if you want to have a ranged nuke Lyn can run the canto control and Alear barricade Also E!Lyn's pre-empt pulse will help Hector secure kills from Bernies with Lucina support plus she gives the 6atk and spd needed for Hector's weapon to go fully online (alear's special jump works on enemy attacks which overlaps with hectors but is useful for everyone else) Fogado and Igrene are your other options i guess

Off season Laeradr still gets me. I have a team that can make him useless in Light season, but in astra I have no teams at the moment that can at the moment. Also by any chance, do you happen to know if Bridal Micaiah can defeat your defense. I've seen a reddit comment mentioning how her with Lyn ring can somehow manage against the meta far save units. I'm not sure about the build, but I've tried it with my budget Bridal Micaiah and it can do some damage against them.

I took like 4 losses with 6 wins for my Warp save bait defense thingy. Unfortunate thing is, even I can beat it. The gist of my defense was mostly to surrpise players with a save unit warping to their faces and legendary male shez warping in to KO a unit. I was proud of the results... until Emblem Lyn and Safety Fence 2 users came around... ugh. I might also have to go back to the drawing board to see what I can come up with.

offense should be stronger than defense. fights should be challenging, not impossible. most players just want to use their favourite units in a variety of playstyles like omnitanking or galeforce. it is poor game design to see every combat be 0x2 unless youve rolled for the newest powercreep banner unit. 90% of units in the game being unable to break through or tank new gen units no matter how much inheritance investment is not a good thing.

I get that you want to be able to put together a defense that you can't beat yourself, I'm the same way. However, there really is no better way to objectively evaluate a defense than to see how it plays out in practice.

Yeah Building defenses is getting harder and harder. I was using a Sigurd / Nergal combo to beat most bait Strategys (BoL gives barely any healing against sigurd and with Essense drain he steals the Nectar) on Chaos, but now with blessable heidrun, i need to use this combo in all seasons ig. A slot got free since B!Robins Ice gets deleted by "Deadly Miasma Lyn ring users". Now im using Sigurd, Nergal, A! Micaiah, Far save Marni, Near Save Winter Ephraim, out of season Heidrun and warp blocking tree man with overlaping Ranges.

Reminder, after Hector drops from seasonal unit, Bernadetta with Lyn will eat him for breakfast, and any hector based defense will crumble and fall pretty fast.

This anima/astra season was pretty awful for me. I had a fairly good defense team but people aren't player phasing as much as baiting with supported nidhoggr and she's almost impossible to kill unlesss you aoe special her with emblem sigurd. Never took so many losses but maybe I'll take that as a lesson to improve my defense.

With Emblem Lyn now it was never so easy to break a Defense. With the gate, i don't even need to move my units and already can take out 3 Foes.

I don't think it's as easy as you make it seem. I had 4 battles where the offense team had Lyn and she did nothing in any of those battles, and even units with her ring and Brave support were doing zero damage 4 times to Hector. I still don't see the hype around her.

@@ronindragoon1132 I agree it is good that no unit is perfect, however I feel Lyn is far from perfect since she has too many exploitable flaws. If she can't snipe the far save then you have to beat one of the saves with a different unit to get to Freyr, and if the saves are set up properly then that is easier said than done.

Defense deserves support the least because they aren't actually playing the game. If anything they need to be nerfed. The problem with Defense is that with the way things are Defense teams are focused on being hyper offensive which forces the offense teams to play defensively. Except they can't play defensively anymore because recently IS's design philosophy around defense mythics has involved stripping the offense teams of their ability to defend. So offense teams can't play offensively because Defense players lock them to the front row with so many obstacles that they can't get out. And their Defenses don't hold up because units like Embla straight up prevent save units from doing their jobs. Jobs that they already struggle with due to the powercreep of ranged nukes. This needs to change.
