This mod does open up air flow to the filter, but unfortunately the most restriction is inside of the factory airbox.. The best way to get proper air flow, is a cold air intake.. Great video though!

You might want to check your filters if you ever drive in a hard rain. They may get very wet.

Ya that is why i'm going to buy some vent guards and check up on the filter couple times a month if not daily after riding just to make sure its not huge bugs etc, caught in there.

The only gain with the air box mod and a K&N filter is 1mpg on my bike. And no box mod with a K&N filter on my wife's bike was Exactly the same results.

That is interesting, I'm guessing the full cold air intake mod would grant the most performance since it lets in from what I can see, no obstruction from the cone to intake. It might just all be in our heads lol.

@@JoJoEnglish The stock box doesn't really have a lot of restriction to start with. The motor is only going to suck so many CFS into that little intake. If you noticed any change it's a seat of your pants improvement. Kinda like getting new wheels on your car and thinking it drives better when you leave the tire shop.😂🤣 I can't say that the Cold Air Intakes are worth the money either. The air is only being drawn in a few inches further away from the bike. And after removing all the stock intake parts it just lets the engine preheat the pipe from the filter to the actual engine intake. Thus no colder air is being supplied compared to the stock box.

@@JoJoEnglish I have helped build and install CAI systems for circle track race cars. Unless you have proper heat shields and insulation when the air duct gets close to anything hot you are wasting time and money. The CAI systems for the Ryker might get a minimal amount of change But they are mostly for Looks 😳😲🤗 Lol

Meh, a little better response with throttle and it sounds better. I think the pedal commander is probably the best way to go, if you want to feel better throttle response with getup and go.
