sorry for the wall of text but the strawberry pesticide injection comment irked me and it bothers me more that I cannot tell how much Taylor was joking, I hope people do not seriously think/believe that. strawberries are larger because they were bred for more water content so that they'd be more marketable, it has also given them a slightly different shape than some strawberries that underwent different human selection. all strawberries are deeply effected by human selection, all of them are natural, there is no natural or unnatural shape for a strawberry. the shape has absolutely nothing to do with pesticides. there are no "injections" in the vast majority of plant agriculture, injecting individual plants in a field would be way too cost and labor intensive than almost anyone would do (not that most farms shy away from overworking people), some trees might get injections sometimes, it's much more efficient and common to spray. sometimes smaller fruit is more flavorful because it has less water diluting the flavor, but if you want your fruit to be more flavorful (and more nutritious!) buy it fresh from a farmer's market or a farm, not a ridiculously expensive grocery store. buying directly from a farm will always get you higher quality produce, and then you can also talk to a farmer about the methods they use at their farm. healthy soil and other good agricultural practices are much more important to food being tasty and nutritious than people give it credit for. an organic label doesn't necessarily mean healthy plants or livestock, it is a marketing tool for large farms (there are a lot of regulations around what methods you can and can't use for organic farming that do mean it's mostly better for the environment than the green revolution style farming, I just think it's overhyped and a lot of small farms do not want to go through the hassle).
