damn im old man, i was in freshman year of college when this game came out. my buddy and i were so excited to play it but my laptop could barely handle the graphics and game. good times as a broke college student playing Aion. This game was marvelous for it's time. The trailer showed our mmo character had wings and could fly around the map.

A guy I played Guild Wars with (elite farming dude) sold a bunch of in-game gold to buy copies Aion and gave them away to his friends. I got a copy and played for a few months. It was fun but the RNG gear upgrade mechanics were rough.

Retail Aion ruined by greed, Aion Classic NA ruined by greed, and now Aion Classic EU is dying as well because of, you guessed it, greed. Could've been great if they dealt with bots, RMTers and the P2W aspects of the game better and if they didn't nerf the drop rates of everything by like 10x. Sadly, only diehard fans left in the game who can't let go of the past and leave this game behind so they spend their paychecks on this shit to fund the greedy corporation and the people who operate the bots (which is probably Gameforge themselves) and the only way they get some enjoyment is beating people in PvP because of gear difference. As for the people who play this game for the PvE i feel sorry for you and I hope you get well soon.

I agree to an extent. When i was young i complained about the p2w aspect but now that i work 6 days a week and only get about 2hrs of play a week. I need the p2w to keep up with my friends. So thank you p2w for giving people like me that dont have time to play games but love videogames an oportunity to play with our friends.

Don't go for retail/classic. Dev's don't listen to anyone, huge p2w, not new player friendly. Check out p servers first. Elden Aion, Aion America etc. Love the fact that he did a review on Aion tho makes me happy

Dont listen to this. Private servers are the reason games die. Because they make everything accesible, when the companie adds stuff to the market and u purshase it, it helps the game grow. Specially a free to play game. If its free to play its always gonna be p2w. If its p2p then its more understandable.
